I-94 reopens in Van Buren Township after shooting investigation causes closure

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police officers investigated a shooting that occurred Friday on the eastbound lanes of I-94.

The investigation closed the eastbound lanes of I-94 from Belleville to Haggerty roads.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said the eastbound lanes of I-94 reopened shortly after 2:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the victim was not hit, but his vehicle was. The motive of the shooting is unclear.
