Michigan man having affair with ex-coworker makes up fake home invasion after failing to kill wife
A Michigan man who was having an affair with a former coworker tried to kill his wife with a shotgun in the middle of the night but had to make it look like a home invasion when his plan failed, police said.

61-year-old Harrison Township man killed in Macomb County crash
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Officials are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Macomb County. Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Hall Road and Gratiot Avenue on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. for the report of a crash. Police said Reed Styers, 61, of Harrison Township was killed in the crash. A white Chevrolet van being driven by a 69-year-old man from Casco Township was driving on Hall Road, east of Gratiot Avenue. READ: More Macomb County news

Man, 6-year-old child injured in paraglider crash in Casco Township
CASCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. A man and a 6-year-old child have been injured in a paraglider crash that occurred Tuesday evening. The St. Clair County Sheriffs Office says at about 7:30 p.m. the 69-year-old man, of Clay Township, took off from a residence in a paraglider with a 6-year-old passenger in the 5600 block of Palms Road. Officials say the paraglider did not gain altitude quickly enough and struck high tension power lines, which caused the paraglider to fall to the ground. Both passengers were transported to the hospital. Their injuries and conditions have not yet been released.

Reward offered for information after lasers pointed at helicopters from Selfridge in Macomb County
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A reward for information is offered after lasers were pointed at two Selfridge-based helicopters while they were flying in St. Clair County and Macomb County. The crews of both helicopters safely landed at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coast Guard Investigative Service’s CGIS TIPS app, available free on Apple’s app store and Google Play. Officials are also seeking information about a laser that was pointed at a Coast Guard helicopter in Chesterfield Township on March 17. Officials noted that if a Coast Guard helicopter is on a rescue mission and a member of the aircrew is compromised by lasers, the mission must be aborted.

25-year-old bicyclist struck by car, killed in Macomb County
(WDIV)LENOX TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 25-year-old bicyclist was struck by a car and killed Thursday while riding during the early morning hours in Macomb County. Lawton Monroe, of Casco Township, was biking around 5:20 a.m. Thursday on County Line Road near 27 Mile Road, police said. Monroe and a silver 2005 Mercury Sable were both going south on County Line Road when the car struck him, according to authorities. When Macomb County deputies arrived at the scene, Monroe was pronounced dead. Macomb County officials are still investigating the crash.
