Suspect in fatal hit-and-run arrested in Hillsdale County, police say
HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI -- A suspect has been arrested in a fatal hit-and-run in Hillsdale County, police said. On Sept. 4, a patrolling Michigan State Police trooper performed a traffic stop on a white Chevy Malibu in Reading Township, western Hillsdale County. The Malibu matched the description for a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run that took place Aug. 21 in Hillsdale County, according to the Michigan State Police. The driver, a 24-year-old from Hillsdale, was arrested and lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail, police said. HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI - A driver of a white Chevy Malibu struck and killed someone Saturday morning in Hillsdale County, and police are requesting help in finding the driver. The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., Aug. 21 in the area of Moore Road and Wildlife Drive in Fayette Township just north of Hillsdale, said the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at 517-437-7317. The footage needs to contain the suspected white Chevy Malibu and needs to be between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m., police said. Residents with footage that matches this description may call the sheriff’s office at the same number above.

MANISTEE COUNTY, MI – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating three young children whom they believe are with their mother, despite a court order removing them from her care. The Michigan State Police issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for 12-year-old Trevor Edens, Talissa Berrentine, 8, and Tallyn Smith, 6, on Friday, April 23. All three children were last seen in the 100 block of Taylor Street in Manistee, according to police. The children are believed to be with their mother, Kimberly Berrentine, who allegedly fled to an unknown location shortly after a court ordered the children removed from her care on Thursday, Michigan State Police said. Child Protective Services and the Manistee Police Department learned of her actions when they went to pick up the kids.

Woman shot, injured while driving on 8 Mile Road in Detroit
On Thursday night a 46-year-old woman was shot while driving in the area west of 8 Mile and Greenfield roads, police say. According to police, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday while the victim was driving her silver 2016 Chevy Malibu. Police say someone in a gray SUV started firing shots, striking her. The victim was treated for nonfatal injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
