Serenade Foods is recalling approximately 59,251 pounds of frozen, raw, breaded and pre-browned stuffed chicken products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Monday.

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet store opens Wednesday on South Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO — Another Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is opening in Southwest Michigan. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is planning to open a Kalamazoo location at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, near Lee’s Chicken, inside what used to be a Big Lots store at 4425 S Westnedge Ave., according to a news release. Social distance throughout the store will be promoted by signage and markings while all high-touch points will be regularly cleaned. With its opening, Ollie’s brings around 50-60 new jobs, ranging from cashiers to assistant managers, the release said. The Kalamazoo store will be added to the chain’s presence in Southwest Michigan, with locations in Battle Creek and Grand Rapids.mlive.com

Dog food line recalled due to possible salmonella contamination
Sunshine Mills, Inc. has issued a recall of a dog food line due to potential salmonella contamination. Pet owners are asked to discontinue use of the recalled product and return any unused portion at the place of purchase for a full refund. Sunshine Mills says that there are currently no reports of illnesses or injuries related to the recalled product.
