Detroit dispensary to be demolished after road buckles due to suspected water main break
DETROIT – An underground issue severely damaged one building and has forced several Detroit streets to close. According to Detroit’s Department of Public Works, the incident occurred Saturday near Dearborn Street and West Fort Street on the city’s southwest side. West Fort at Miller Road and Woodmere Street and Dearborn Street at Riverside Drive and Stone Street are closed indefinitely. The cause of the ground buckling has not yet been determined by city officials, but the Detroit News reported that a water main break likely occurred beneath Stash Provisioning Center, a marijuana dispensary in the area. Fort Street was flooded with a yellowish liquid and an odor of gas still lingered Sunday outside the Stash Provisioning Center dispensary, according to the newspaper.mlive.com

“It felt like an explosion or earthquake honestly. The doors in the building were shifting. We were trying to fix them and then we noticed that it was actually a foundation issue. Cracks were appearing inside as well as outside."
