The briefing comes as states begin lifting virus restrictions as COVID vaccinations ramp up, and as some states -- like Michigan, New York and New Jersey -- experience another surge in virus spread. The nation has also just cleared President Biden’s goal of administering 100 million vaccinations within his first 100 days in office. President Biden is also assembling the next big White House priority, a sweeping $3 trillion package of investments on infrastructure and domestic needs.

President Biden is pushing for states to make vaccines available to all adults by May. “We want to be oversupplied and overprepared,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said last week. Biden had previously promised that 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccines would be administered in the U.S. within his first 100 days in office.
Detroit mayor holds briefing to discuss DDOT driver walk-out
DETROIT – Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is holding a briefing at noon Saturday, Oct. 3 to discuss the ongoing Detroit Department of Transportation driver work stoppage. The briefing comes as city officials try getting drivers back to work. Today’s briefing is taking place at Spirit Plaza right outside the Coleman A Young Municipal Center.

DETROIT Detroit Police Chief James Craig will hold a news briefing at 1 p.m. on Monday to provide details on an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday night. Watch the briefing live in the video player above at 1 p.m.A 27-year-old man was shot by a Detroit police officer around 11 p.m. Sunday in the area of Plymouth Road and Wyoming Avenue. So far, police have not provided many details regarding the shooting. Officials did say that the man is in police custody and a weapon was recovered at the scene. The 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital following the shooting and is in stable condition.
