Fire breaks out at The Capital Grille inside Somerset Collection in Troy
A plume of black smoke pouring out of the roof of Somerset Collection north could be seen for miles after a kitchen fire at the Capital Grille goes up through the vents and through the roof. Troy Fire Station number three got on top of the fire quickly and spared the building from significant damage.
Rep your favorite Detroit sports team with a unique design
Detroit is home to some pretty amazing sports teams and you know fans love to cheer them on and sport their own apparel. Well, now a local designer is offering a unique twist on some popular merchandise. It’s led to a pop-up shop at Somerset Collection and even collaborations with some pro athletes. Celebrities coming together to help charities in Detroit
This Thursday December 10, Mitch Albom is encouraging you to give a gift back to the Detroit community by donating to the SAY Detroit Radiothon. The fundraiser gathers money for charities across Metro Detroit, and is more important than ever during the uncertainty of the pandemic. Usually, Albom and co-host Ken Brown would host the event out of Somerset Mall, inviting guests onstage with them and drawing large crowds. This year though, Albom and Brown will be the only ones onstage and guests will be tuning in over video chat. Albom said they’re hoping that even now when times are tough, there will still be those who decide to donate.
Help Me Hank checks in with Black Friday shoppers at Somerset Mall
Traditionally, that would mean thousands of people flooding malls for Black Friday. The parking lots and lines at Metro Detroit malls aren’t nearly what residents are used to seeing. Some shoppers are still getting out to find deals, though. Consumer Investigator Hank Winchester went a few miles up I-75 to Somerset Mall to check in with some of those shoppers. Troy police investigate shots fired in Somerset Parking lot
TROY, Mich. – Police were investigating reports of shots fired Sunday evening in the parking lot on the south side of Somerset Collection in Troy. The suspected shooter also fled the area, police said. Police don’t believe this was a random shooting. Anyone with information on this shooting needs to contact Troy police. 2 arrested in Somerset Mall carjacking
TROY, Mich. – Two people are in police custody after allegedly hijacking a vehicle outside of Somerset Mall on Thursday morning. Police say at about 7:30 a.m. two males were approached by four people in a silver Nissan when exiting the mall. Two suspects took the victims’ 2016 black Dodge Charger and fled the scene while the other two suspects fled the scene in the Nissan. A black 2016 Dodge Charger was hijacked from two people at Somerset Mall on the morning of July 23, 2020. The two suspects from Tennessee are being housed at the Jackson County Jail and are expected to be arraigned soon.
Man caught taking ‘upskirt’ picture of girl above him on escalator at Somerset in Troy, police say
TROY, Mich. – Troy police said they arrested a man who was caught taking “upskirt” pictures of a girl who was standing above him on an escalator at the Somerset Collection. Kristopher Murray, 36, of Clinton Township, was seen following a 16-year-old girl on an escalator, taking pictures of her, according to police. The girl told police she didn’t know she was being photographed, but she did notice someone standing close by, according to authorities. Murray is charged with capturing an image of an unclothed person, a five-year felony, and using a computer to commit a crime, a seven-year felony. Murray is scheduled to return to 52-4 District Court in Troy at 8:30 a.m. March 2.
