Sign up required for student COVID testing

Parents are reminded that high school students must sign up for the free in-school COVID-19 testing before each test. School officials are urging students to sign up, saying it’s important to monitor COVID-19 in the schools. Testing is free and administered by Wayne Health, out of Wayne State University. Students may sign up at bit.ly/316Sj14. Parents or guardians must sign up for minor students to take the test.

In favorite destinations like Miami Beach, cheap flights and discounted hotel rooms are making the area even more appealing despite the pandemic. To sum it up, “avoid travel, crowds, and poorly ventilated spaces,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. The agency said travel increases the chance of getting and spreading COVID-19 and recommends people stay at home. If people must travel, the CDC recommends getting vaccinated, if eligible, and then wait two weeks after a second dose. Also, get a viral COVID test one to three days before travel and keep a copy of the test results in case it’s needed.

University of Michigan eliminates spring break in revised spring semester

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Students at the University of Michigan will not have a spring break this upcoming term. The elimination of spring break means that students will finish their semester when final exams occur from April 22-29. Previously, the U-M announced that students would not have a fall break and would end in-person classes for the fall term on Nov. 20. After their Thanksgiving break, students would continue classes remotely from Nov. 30 to the end of fall semester, with exams taking place between Dec. 10-18. Classes for the spring semester will start Jan. 19, 2021 after the Rev.
