Ex-jail official, inmate she helped escape caught
An Alabama sheriff says escaped inmate Casey White and former jail official Vicky White have been taken into custody in Indiana, according to an Alabama sheriff. Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton says they two fugitives were caught near Evansville, Indiana, after a car chase with U.S. Marshals. Singleton said at a news conference that marshals were pursuing a pickup driven by Casey White when the truck wrecked and he surrendered. Vicky White was taken to a hospital. The Marshals Service said a warrant was issued on May 2 for Vicky Sue White charging her with permitting or facilitating escape in the first degree.
US agents to pull back in Portland but will stay on standby
Many demonstrators are peaceful, but smaller numbers have thrown fireworks, flares and rocks at federal agents, used lasers to blind them and sprayed graffiti across the downtown Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse. The deployment appeared to have the opposite effect, reinvigorating demonstrations with a new focus: getting rid of the federal presence. Federal agents nearly killed a demonstrator, and their presence has led to increased violence and vandalism in our downtown core, he said. Wednesday's announcement was an abrupt about-face from just two days earlier, when the U.S. government said it might send more federal agents to Portland. Oregon's governor cautioned Wednesday that the lower visibility of the federal agents and their ultimate departure won't immediately resolve the conflict.

DETROIT โ Federal and local law enforcement agencies are involved in a manhunt for Kenyel Brown. Brown is wanted in connection with at least six deaths in Metro Detroit. Marshals, officers from the Detroit Police Department, Michigan State Police, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives zeroed in on a home Sunday in Highland Park. Authorities seek shooter as families mourn man, woman killed in River Rouge
RIVER ROUGE, Mich. โ The family members of two people killed in River Rouge last week continue to grieve while police search for the shooter. Dorian Patterson, 48, and Kimberly Green, 52, were shot to death Friday at a home on Beechwood Street. Authorities are searching for Kenyel William Brown, 40, in connection with the shooting. Fugitive couple facing murder charges back in custody
Husband and wife fugitives Blane and Susan Barksdale have been captured, the U.S. The sheriff's department did not provide details about when, how or where the couple was taken into custody. Blane Barksdale had been on the Marshals Service's list of the 15 most wanted fugitives since Monday. "Blane Barksdale has the dubious distinction of fulfilling that requirement." Bligh's brother said the victim was good friends with Susan Barksdale but she had changed since meeting her new husband.
