Fans honor comedy legend Betty White by donating to animal shelters
We all knew and loved Betty White for the work she did in Hollywood, but she would always say that her real passion was animals. White's passion has led many of her fans to come together to continue to further that passion by saving animals.

Beagle rescued from pond in Oakland County
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich – Animal control in Oakland County is hoping to reunite a beagle with its family. The dog was recently rescued from a frozen pond by a Good Samaritan last week. Lapeer boy sells art to raise money for animal shelter
LAPEER, Mich. A boy in Lapeer came up with a fun idea to help raise money for the local animal shelter. He loves to draw and figured he could sell his art and donate the money. Arctic fox spotted in South Lyon taken to Howell Nature Center for checkup
SOUTH LYON, Mich. – An Arctic fox spotted in South Lyon Friday morning was taken to the Howell Nature Center for a checkup. Officers from the South Lyon Police Department came across the animal while responding to an injured dog complaint near a high school. A post on the South Lyon Police Department’s page said the fox’s owner was found. The arctic fox is also known as the white fox, polar fox and ice fox, according to the Detroit Zoo. During the winter, their fur color is white and during the summer it turns to a brownish-gray, which allows them to remain camouflaged year round.
