DETROIT โ The Detroit Pistons have reportedly traded Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks for Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round draft pick. ESPN reported the trade was complete, with Detroit getting a 2021 second-round pick from the Knicks, which was originally owned by Charlotte. Detroit has agreed to trade guard Derrick Rose to New York for Dennis Smith Jr., and a 2021 second-round pick (via Charlotte), sources tell ESPN. AdLast year, Smith played in 34 games for the Knicks, averaging 5.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game on 34.1% shooting.
Red Wings trade rights to Timashov to Islanders
DETROIT โ The Detroit Red Wings traded the rights to forward Dmytro Timashov to the New York Islanders for future considerations. Timashov, the Ukrainian-born Swede who turned 24 in October, appeared in five games with the Red Wings in 2019-20 after the team claimed him off waivers from Toronto on Feb. 24. In 44 career NHL games with Detroit and Toronto, he has four goals and five assists. DETROIT โ The Detroit Red Wings acquired defenseman Marc Staal and a second-round draft pick from the New York Rangers for future considerations Saturday. โMarc Staal has been an exemplary hockey player, teammate and person from the moment he joined the New York Rangers organization,โ Rangers President John Davidson said. The rebuilding Red Wings have 20 picks over the next two drafts, including six of the first 65 selections this year. The Red Wings acquired Gagner on Feb. 24 in a trade with Edmonton.
