Bell’s will tap Seneca Village beer in recognition of Juneteenth
Seneca Village, a Black IPA with an ABV of 6.19%, will be released during a special event at Bell’s Eccentric Café in Kalamazoo at noon, Saturday, June 19. It is the sixth beer to be designed and brewed by staff as a part of the series, and Seneca Village was chosen to call attention to the story of the 19th century village of the same name. Bell's Brewery's latest Celebration Series beer, Seneca Village will be released June 19, 2021. “Stories of thriving and flourishing African American communities like Seneca Village, the Greenwood District in Tulsa (Oklahoma), and Gullah Island are left out of the spotlight,” Jay Maddock, Bell’s equity and inclusion specialist, said in a statement.

2 Michigan breweries take home medals at Colorado State Fair craft beer competition
COMSTOCK, Mich. - Beers from two Michigan breweries won multiple medals at the Colorado State Fair craft beer competition this week. Comstock-based Bell's Brewery's Bell's Porter won gold in the American Porter category and Kalamazoo Stout won silver in the Dark British Beer category. Escanaba-based Upper Hand Brewery, a division of Bell's, won gold in the Historical Beer category for Yellow Hex, bronze in the British Bitter and Pale Commonwealth Beer category for Laughing Fish and bronze in the American Porter and Stout category for SISU Stout. "Beers like Porter and Kalamazoo Stout were some of our original brews and, along with Amber Ale, helped build the brewery," said Larry Bell, Bell's president and founder. "It's incredible to see these darker, classic beers continue earning awards today."

COMSTOCK, Mich. - Bell's Brewery said its new twist on its ever-popular Two Hearted Ale will finally begin shipping Monday. The Michigan brewery announced Double Two Hearted Ale in May. The Double American IPA has 2 1/2 times the amount of Centennial hops as the original, award-winning Two Hearted. COMSTOCK, Mich. - The best beer in the country turns 22 this week. Celebrate Bell's Two Hearted Ale, which was named the best beer in the U.S. for the third year in a row this summer, with an array of events across the country. Thursday is Two Hearted Day, the day the beer debuted in 1997, but Bell's Brewery is celebrating all week throughout its distribution area. The first version of Two Hearted, a pale ale brewed with English malt and Wisconsin-grown hops, actually appeared in the late 1980s. The Two Hearted that is known and loved now is an American IPA made with the centennial hop.
