One of two men who were aboard a boat that went missing on Lake Michigan more than three weeks ago has been found dead at an Indiana beach, authorities announced. The body of Dexter Sain, 36, of Chicago, was found around 4 p.m. Tuesday at Whihala Beach in Whiting, Ind., CBS Chicago reports. Sain set out on the 30-foot Cindy Ann with Curtis Herron, 36, on July 26, from Robert A. Pastrick Marina in East Chicago, Ind. WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 16-year-old girl who was killed in a White Lake Township boating incident somehow ended up in the water and was struck by the boat’s propeller, investigators said. White Lake police are calling Nicole Shoup’s death a “freak accident.” They said she was with her boyfriend on Mandon Lake on Monday evening when she ended up in the water and was struck by the boat’s propeller. “Something like this can happen in the blink of an eye,” White Lake police Lt. Matt Ivory said. “Lives are changed just that fast.”White Lake police are still investigating whether Shoup jumped into the water or fell off the boat. “Anyone that’s going to go on the water that’s young -- anyone period who is going to go on the water -- I would highly encourage you to take a Coast Guard-approved boater safety course,” Ivory said.

Police: 16-year-old dies after jumping off moving boat on Mandon Lake
WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 16-year-old girl is dead after jumping off of a pontoon boat while it was still moving Monday on Mandon Lake in White Lake Township, police said. Police said the teen was on her friend’s boat when she jumped off the back while it was still moving. Family members have identified her as Nicole Shoup. Although police believe Shoup jumped off the boat, family members say there is no way she would have done that while the boat was moving. DETROIT – A large yacht struck the seawall guardrail overnight Tuesday along the Detroit riverfront. The rail was badly damaged along the Riverwalk near the Renaissance Center in Downtown Detroit. About 30 feet of dock was damaged, Detroit police said. The U.S. Coast Guard did catch up to the boat, named “Valara VI,” a little further up the Detroit River.
