EMMET COUNTY, MI – A man found walking down US-31 with a severe laceration said he was attacked by a machete-wielding man in Northern Michigan. When troopers arrived, they found the victim, a 34-year-old Petoskey man walking in the middle of the highway with a severe wound to his left leg. The victim stated he had been attacked by a 56-year-old Petoskey man staying at a local motel. It allegedly culminated with one man being attacked with a machete by the other man. The suspect was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and lodged in the Emmet County Jail pending arraignment.

Michigan man accused of breaking window, trying to pull woman from car full of kids
EMMET COUNTY, MI – A Michigan man charged with domestic violence allegedly broke the window of a vehicle filled with kids before trying to pull their mother from the car. The 31-year-old Bear Creek Township man also had multiple in-state and out-of-state warrants, according to the Michigan State Police. The domestic incident occurred on Pickerel Lake Road in Emmet County’s Bear Creek Township at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. A perimeter was quickly established and an MSP Canine Team along with a member of the MSP emergency support team tracked and ultimately located the suspect hiding in the woods. The suspect was arrested and lodged in the Emmet County Jail for domestic violence assault.

James Charboneau appeared in 90th District Court Thursday and was charged on six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct causing personal injury, six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during commission of a felony, to-wit; kidnapping – unlawful imprisonment, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct causing personal injury, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct during commission of a felony, to-wit: kidnapping – unlawful imprisonment, and one count unlawful imprisonment. The victim was treated at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Cheboygan and evidence was turned over the MSP. An investigation led to the 19-count felony warrant against Charboneau, who was arrested Wednesday. Bond was set at $1 million and Charboneau is being held at the Emmet County Jail.

EMMET COUNTY, Mich. A Michigan man was arrested for sexually assaulting his girlfriends young daughter about 10 years ago, state police said. Anthony Francis Wilson, 38, of East Jordan, Michigan, was arrested after a parent called Michigan State Police in April to report a child had been sexual assaulted. The alleged assault happened about 10 years ago, when Wilson was dating the childs mother, according to authorities. Wilson was charged with one county of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with multiple variables. He was arraigned at 90th District Court in Emmet County.

Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with selling cocaine in Emmet County. The three suspects were in the home when the search warrant was executed. Police say 21-year-old Brett Eric Williams of Alanson was charged with delivery of cocaine and conspiracy to deliver cocaine. Adam Nicholas Albrecht, 22, of Alanson was charged with delivery of cocaine, conspiracy to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and maintaining a drug house. Darren Andrew Robinson, 19, of Alanson was charged with delivery of cocaine and conspiracy to deliver cocaine.
