🔒 Devin Scillian’s ultimate Detroit playlist shows why we’re the greatest music city in the world
I’ll say at the outset that I’m not a native Detroiter. I root like mad for this city, for its sports teams, and for its traditions, but I come to today’s topic as a guy who grew up outside its city (or even state) limits.

The planes are also part of the 127th Wing located at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township. This was his first time performing the National Anthem at a Tigers game at Comerica Park. This very difficult crossword contains the White Stripes' new greatest hits track list
click to enlarge Fabio Diena / Shutterstock.comJack White likes it when things are challenging. The 26-song, career-spanning track list will be released Friday, but before then, Third Man Records is teasing it with a good old-fashioned crossword puzzle. The puzzle was devised by White's nephew and White Stripes historian (and formercontributor) Ben Blackwell, now at Third Man Records. And the White Stripes are a great band," he told the paper. I like people engaging like that — not just listening to the music, but having conversations, talking about what captivates and grabs them. "You can try your hand at the crossword puzzle over at the Detroit Free Press , or wait until the final track list gets revealed on Friday.metrotimes.com

5 things you probably didn’t know about Jack White
After a not-so-funny opening monologue from comedian Bill Burr on this past weekend’s “SNL,” the show needed someone to save it, and guitarist and singer Jack White did just that. Backed by only a drummer (with the coolest drum kit ever) and bassist, Jack White dipped back into his extensive back catalogue of songs, and played some classics. And if you’ve been rocking out to The White Stripes since 1999, you probably already appreciate all of these things. White first saw a rise to fame with his duo The White Stripes. On the bright side, that didn’t stop Jack White from still making music.
Jack White to replace Morgan Wallen as 'SNL' musical guest
NEW YORK – Jack White will be the last-minute replacement musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” after country singer Morgan Wallen was dropped for breaking COVID-19 protocols. Wallen was removed as musical guest on Thursday after TikTok videos showed him partying last weekend without a mask on among a large group of people. Lorne Michaels announced White as a fill-in Friday on the “Today” show. “Saturday Night Live,” which will be hosted this Saturday by comedian Bill Burr, resumed live in-studio shows last weekend with a smaller live audience. Guests were required to take a COVID-19 test and temperature check at arrival, and wear masks inside the building.
Whoever buys the Majestic Theatre Complex, please keep it (mostly) the same
click to enlarge Steve NeavlingThe marquee of the Majestic Theatre in Detroit. We're sad to see the Majestic Theatre Complex — the sprawling block in Midtown that includes the Majestic Theatre, Magic Stick, Garden Bowl, the Alley Deck, and Sgt. During the Great Recession, the venue took to blocking off parts of the Magic Stick to create a "Magic Stick Lounge" to make it look like the room wasn't so empty when smaller crowds showed up. In 2015, the venue pivoted to electronic music, transforming the Magic Stick into a club called Populux as part of a $300,000 renovation. The venue had also inked a deal with AEG Presents for booking talent. We're hoping that whoever buys it resists the urge to turn everything into high-priced apartments or condos ( as was feared would happen to Ann Arbor's Blind Pig ) and keeps it a music venue complex.metrotimes.com

While both Cooper and White will, in fact, be making a hometown visit on Devils Night, its got nothing to do with the devil and everything to do with a Tiger.
