Joe Biden discusses blue collar workers, handling coronavirus
Biden sat down with Local 4′s Mara MacDonald for a one-on-one conversation. When asked why his poll numbers among that group were soft, Biden said, "I don’t know but my whole career, I’ve had the support of blue collar workers pretty coherent here in the automobile industry. But what would be different if it was a Biden Administration and not a Trump Administration in dealing with COVID-19? When asked why, Biden said, "It’s fundamentally what her judicial philosophy is. The issue is is her judicial philosophy going to prevent her from saying there is a right to privacy.

Business owners react to governor allowing Michigan restaurants to reopen
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. With the governors order today allowing restaurants to reopen next week, business owners are working around the clock. For national chains it is likely a rush to reopen, with smaller independent restaurants the situation is different. Smaller restaurants are faced with a dilemma including Paisanos Pizza & Restaurant in St. Clair Shores. It has been a family staple for 65 years but they are not sure 50% capacity makes financial sense for them. Looking at his compact dining room, he doesnt think opening up next Monday with 50% capacity makes much sense.
Michigan Rep. Paul Mitchell announces he won't seek reelection
DETROIT - U.S. Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Mich., said he is not seeking reelection, a decision that's sending shock waves through political circles Wednesday. Local 4's Mara MacDonald spoke with Mitchell one-on-one about the decision and what's next for Michigan's 10th District. First elected in 2016 after long-time GOP Rep. Candice Miller announced she would not seek reelection, Mitchell would have been up to run again in 2020. When Mara spoke with Mitchell last week in Washington, D.C., his frustration and disgust over the current state of debate, as well as hyper partisanship, was palpable. There are already plenty of names floating in the ether of potential candidates, including Peter J. Lucido, Pete Lund and Mark Hackel.

High humidity combined with near-record heat will lead to dangerous conditions for those who are not prepared. Staying in an air-conditioned area is important during a heat wave like this one. Misters were spread throughout the fair and paramedics are expected to be riding through the fair all weekend.
Attorney claims Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh 'seduced' teenager
DETROIT – A Metro Detroit attorney representing an 18-year-old man and his mother claims Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh had an inappropriate relationship with a student at Douglass Academy. Local 4's Mara MacDonald tweeted as the press conference happened. TWITTER: Attorney hold press conference about pending lawsuit against Charles PughThe attorney says he will not provide copies of texts between Pugh and the teenager and was not willing to elaborate on what Pugh may have written to the teen. During a Wednesday press conference he did, however, say Pugh took the student off campus in a city car and bought him gifts. The lawsuit to be field claims there was an inappropriate relationship between Pugh and the then 17-year-old he was mentoring.
