Thieves steal Slows Bar BQ trailer in Corktown, owner says
DETROIT – Police are investigating a restaurant’s food trailer that was reported stolen Wednesday. “It’s 26-feet long, it’s 10,000 pounds,” said Michael Metevia, owner of Slows Bar BQ. “There’s no hiding it.”The trailer was taken from a fenced lot on Michigan Avenue at about 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. Wednesday. “We parked it in our secure lot where it normally lives when we’re not using it. So when something like this happens, it is more of an emotional blow than business,” he said.
RV used for COVID-19 testing stolen in Rochester Hills
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – An RV used as part of a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site has been stolen in Rochester Hills. The RV was set up outside of the Rochester Medical Group building in a well lit parking lot on South Boulevard between John R and Rochester roads. The drive-thru site tested about 150 people a day, and the RV cost more than $14,000. Thieves took off with 500 COVID-19 testing swabs, boxes of PPE and propane tanks and heaters that staff members used to stay warm. “To have that stolen with all our PPE in it, it was gut wrenching,” Margolis said.
Oakland County deputies seeking 2 people in stealing wallet from 77-year-old woman in Rochester Hills
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two people they said stole a wallet out of a 77-year-old woman’s purse in Rochester Hills. Deputies said the two individuals worked together to cause a distraction at a large retail store before taking the wallet. Deputies said the individuals then proceeded to drive to a nearby store and used the credit cards from the wallet. One individual is described by deputies as a White man wearing a red sweater and blue jeans, a mask covering his face and spoke with an accent. The other individual is described as a White man wearing an orange and black shirt with blue jeans and a mask covering his face.
Livonia police seek 2 people in connection to stealing camping trailer
LIVONIA, Mich. – Police are searching for two people who said allegedly stole a camping trailer in 31000 block of Industrial Road. A passenger in a pickup truck can be seen trying to open a gate. The driver then reversed the truck into the gate to break it open, and the two individuals left with the trailer. The passenger in the vehicle is described as a White man with short hair and a beard, wearing a black shirt with “Champion” written on the front. The driver is described as a White man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.
