FLINT, MI – A Genesee County Circuit Court judge will not overturn felony charges filed against a Flint man who shot and killed a 42-year-old man outside the Sunoco gas station on North Ballenger Highway and Flushing Road in March. In Pickell’s ruling, the judge said Jackson had a reasonable ability to run from the scene as opposed to shooting Mozzaffar. With his gun still aimed at Mozzaffar, he exited the gas station, but Mozzaffar followed him out of the building. Jackson opened fire while running away, shooting Mozzaffar and shooting his vehicle. Sunoco station site of third armed robbery in Saginaw within a few days
SAGINAW, MI — For the third time in less than a week, a Saginaw business was the target of an armed robbery. This most recent would-be robbery occurred just before 2 a.m. on the Sunoco gas station at 1607 S. Michigan Ave. on the city’s West Side. The other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and black shoes. Detroit resident arrested for Monroe County burglaries
HURON TOWNSHIP A Detroit resident suspected in a pair of breaking and entering incidents in Monroe County was arrested Friday morning. The 46-year-old male was taken into custody at approximately 11:45 a.m., according to a press release issued by Huron Township Director of Public Safety, Everette Robbins. The Michigan Department of Corrections Parole and the Gibraltar Police Department assisted the Huron Township Detective Bureau in taking the suspect into custody at his residence within the City of Detroit. The suspect was interviewed by the Huron Township Detective Bureau, at which point he admitted to both incidents. Shooting at Harper Woods gas station under investigation
DETROIT - Police are investigating a nonfatal shooting that happened Friday night. Harper Woods police were dispatched to the Sunoco gas station on Kelly Road and Eastwood Drive at 10:14 p.m. over reports of shots being fired in the parking lot. Arriving officers secured the scene and started an investigation, but were unable to locate a victim. During the investigation, officers received information that a victim of the shooting was transported to a local hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound. Detectives from the Harper Woods Department of Public Safety are actively investigating the incident.
