400 Eisenhower High School students quarantined amid COVID outbreak; School returns to remote learning
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Utica Community Schools’ Eisenhower High School sent a letter to parents Monday alerting them the school will be going fully remote starting March 23 until April 19. The school has 40 positive cases and 400 students in quarantine. The Warren Education Association represents over 860 educators in Warren Schools and they are looking out for the teachers, by demanding the students in Warren should stay home for the upcoming school year. The organization released a letter to Warren Schools, making sure their concerns are heard and clear.
Warren Consolidated summer school employee tests positive for COVID-19
WARREN, Mich. A staff member working in Warren Consolidated Schools districts summer school program has tested positive for COVID-19, district officials say. The letter also says the Macomb County Health Department has been notified of the confirmed case and working with the district to provide guidance. Problem with 12 buses forces Warren Consolidated Schools to close Wednesday
Officials with Warren Consolidated Schools are trying to figure out why 12 school buses broke down and caused the district to shut down Wednesday. Those students had to be transferred to a second bus, officials said. The decision to close the district caused headaches for many parents. Superintendent Robert Livernois said the same buses are used for middle and elementary school students, so there would have been a domino effect in delays. Separate from being stranded on the bus, elementary kids (would have been) waiting at a bus stop, Livernois said.
Warren Consolidated cancels school today due to transportation issue
Classes are canceled Wednesday for students in the Warren Consolidated Schools district due to a transportation issue, the district reports. The school district posted the closing announcement just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. The district was also closed Tuesday due to the snowy and icy road conditions.
