Judge denies GOP lawsuit to halt certification of Detroit election results
A Wayne County judge has denied a motion from Republican challengers to halt certification of Detroit election results. In a ruling issued Friday, Wayne County Judge Timothy Kenny said plaintiffs' interpretation of events at TCF Center were โincorrect and not credible.โโPlaintiffs' affiants did not have full understanding of TCF absent ballot tabulation.โ Judge Kenny denied all motions, including one for an independent audit. Kenny twice has turned down injunctions in Wayne County, a Democratic stronghold. Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office trying to identify Ann Arbor vandals
ANN ARBOR, Mich. โ The Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office (WCSO) is attempting to identify three people who vandalized the 22nd Circuit Court building in downtown Ann Arbor around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. Court order temporarily halts sale of former Michigan State Fairgrounds site
DETROIT โ The sale of the former Michigan State Fairgrounds has been halted by a court order just over a week after the sale was approved. The Wayne County Circuit Court issued a temporary restraining order on Wednesday to halt the sale of 142 acres of the former fairgrounds site to two development groups. The Detroit City Council approved the sale on October 20, making the land available for a proposed Amazon distribution center and new indoor transit center. โIn 2020, the Detroit City Council adopted a Community Outreach Ordinance requiring a specified outreach process before amending the cityโs master plan. A proposed sale of acreage at the former Michigan State Fairgrounds would redevelop about half of the site into a new Amazon distribution center, with the rest saved for a transit center and other future developments.

Judge rules 16-year-old can stay on life support after dispute between family and Royal Oak Beaumont
ROYAL Oak, Mich. - On Monday, Judge Hala Jarbou of Oakland County Circuit Court granted a temporary restraining order to keep Titus Germain Cromer, Jr., 16, on life support, the Oakland Press reported. Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital has informed the family that Cromer has lost all brain function. The temporary restraining order was set to expire Monday at noon. Rasor says doctors at Beaumont believe Cromer has irreversible brain damage but says his family is praying and wants more time before taking him off of life support.
Michigan man gets 100 years in prison for killing, dismembering woman
Instead, he chose to go to trial last month and was found guilty of second-degree murder and other crimes. Ashley Young's torso was found in December in the basement of Chance's Grand Rapids rental home. Chance and Young knew each other and were last seen together at a Grand Rapids bar in late November. Holding the box of cremains, Young said, "If I want a hug, I have to hug a box." But Kent County Judge Mark Trusock said the guidelines don't account for the "level of brutality" in Young's death.
Stacey Dash pleads not guilty to domestic battery charge
PCSO/Getty Images(CNN) - Stacey Dash entered a written plea of not guilty Wednesday on a domestic battery charge, according to documents filed in Pasco County Circuit Court. The actress and former political pundit was arrested Sunday after allegedly slapping and pushing her husband during an argument at a home in New Port Richey, Florida, the court documents state. Her husband's name was redacted in an incident report obtained by CNN. She posted bail and was released on Monday morning, according to a spokesperson for the Pasco County Sheriff. A public defender was appointed to represent her after she told the court that she couldn't afford to hire her own attorney, the court documents said.
