Devastated father of 9-year-old girl mauled to death by dogs in Detroit takes witness stand

A devastated father whose 9-year-old daughter was mauled to death by three pit bulls in Detroit took the witness stand Wednesday against the dogs' owner.

It's been nearly a month since Emma Hernandez was mauled by the dogs on Detroit's west side. On Wednesday, her father faced the dogs' owner as he relived his daughter's death.

Navy: UFO videos are real

The U.S. Navy confirmed this week that three online videos appearing to show UFOs are actually real.

For the first time since the videos made national news in 2017, the Navy is confirming the content of the videos. Navy spokesperson Joseph Gradisher told "The Black Vault (John Greenwald)," and Vice's The Motherboard that "the Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those 3 videos as unidentified."

Shooting threat arrest

An arrest has been made after a shooting threat against schools in the Melvindale-Northern Allen Park district canceled classes three days this week.

The threat against a high school and middle school in the district was made on Snapchat. The Melvindale Police Department didn't provide further details about the arrest or the threat.

Serial killer charges

The suspect in two criminal sexual conduct cases and a Detroit serial killer case has been charged with eight counts of murder in connection with the deaths of four women who were found facedown in vacant Detroit houses, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced.

Deangelo Martin, 34, of Detroit, was charged Wednesday with four counts of premeditated murder and four counts of felony murder in connection with the deaths of Annetta Nelson, Nancy Harrison, Trevesene Ellis and Tamara Jones.

Detroit bar broken into

Thieves caused a lot of damage at a Detroit bar but got away from the scene with very little.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday on Livernois Avenue just south of I-96. The thieves plan appeared to go by the wayside very quickly.

Video shows an older-model Chevy, possibly an Impala, crash into the outer doors of Varsity Lounge in Detroit and three of four men rush inside heading straight for the cash register.
