Police investigating fatal three-vehicle crash in Downtown Detroit
DETROIT – Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision in Downtown Detroit that occurred Sunday. According to authorities, just after 5:30 p.m., a Jeep Wrangler, a Dodge Ram and a Buick collided in the intersection of Grand River and Cass avenues. Police said the driver of the Buick, a 60-year-old man, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 13-year-old boy was also rushed to a hospital, but he is expected to survive. Sheriff’s office investigating after shots fired near deputies in Mount Clemens
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich, – Police are investigating after shots were fired near two Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies early Tuesday morning. According to the sheriff’s office, at about 12:25 a.m. two deputies were parked and talking in a parking lot in the area of Gratiot and Cass avenues when they both heard a gunshot in the area. Officials say a second gunshot followed and seemed to cross their vehicles. Officials say it is unclear if the gunshots were fired at the deputies intentionally. The sheriff’s office says the scene has been canvassed and officials have not found anything suspicious at this time.

The University of Michigan has confirmed a “cluster” of COVID-19 positive cases in the South Quad residence hall on its downtown Ann Arbor campus. On Thursday, the university announced that the sixth and eighth floors of the residence hall have the most cases and are “the area of focus” through a community notice. Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said Friday they will continue to base the decision on the best public health advice available to keep Canadians safe. Dozens of pieces of Inuit art found in decrepit Rochester Hills home
DETROIT – Galerie Camille, located on Cass Avenue, is the new home of recently found Inuit art. Several colorful and vibrant prints -- some even signed by the artist -- were found in a waterlogged, dilapidated house in Rochester Hills that had been vacant for years. Eventually the pieces will be on display at Galerie Camille after being restored. Adnan Charara, with Galerie Camille, said some of the pieces are damaged with mold, stains and tears, but they will be on display after being restored. Once legendary concert venue Gold Dollar Bar demolished after suspicious fire
DETROIT - An iconic building near Little Caesar's Arena was demolished Monday. The former Gold Dollar Bar was destroyed in a fire on July 22. The historic bar on Cass Avenue had been vacant since 2001 and is owned by the Ilitch family. It's the first venue where the White Stripes ever performed.
