Meijer shopper charged $1,500 for a $68 purchase

Casey DeBruyn is trying to untangle her finances after her debit card was repeatedly charged for a $68 purchase at a Meijer store in the Grand Rapids area. Meijer, the Michigan-based big-box retailer, has acknowledged that some customers recently have been overcharged for certain purchases. The next morning, a drive-thru ATM was ripped from its foundation at United Financial Credit Union at 4685 State in Saginaw Township. Chase Bank to move locations in downtown Ann Arbor

A 24-year-old woman who was stabbed in the neck Wednesday while working at a Chase Bank on the Near North Side has died of her injuries, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Florida woman ‘horrified’ to discover $1 billion in her bank account
A Florida woman is making national news after an apparent bank error in her favor. WFLA reports Julia Yonkowski went to the ATM at a local Chase Bank in Largo, Fla., on Saturday to withdraw some money, but decided to check her bank balance first. She only planned to take $20 out, but she was shocked when the receipt showed she had nearly $1 billion in her account, or $999,985,855.94. Yonkowski said that she tried contacting Chase Bank multiple times over the weekend, but couldn’t get to a person through the bank’s automated system. ANN ARBOR – Ken Kenyatta Wilson was charged on Friday with a slew of felonies by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office. Wilson fled police officers on Tuesday afternoon after robbing the Chase Bank at 4101 E. Ellsworth Road in Pittsfield Township, leading to a chase when the suspect crashed his vehicle in the area of US-23 and Washtenaw Ave. Wilson was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor hospital with serious injuries, but was reported to be in stable condition. Canton police investigate Chase Bank robbery
CANTON, Mich. – Police are investigating the report of a bank robbery at a Chase Bank in Canton. The incident happened on Thursday at 3:31 p.m. at the bank located at Michigan Avenue and Old Canton Center. The suspect is accused of presenting a note demanding money to the teller. Kalamazoo bank robber who spent $2K of stolen cash at strip club sentenced to prison
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A man who robbed a Kalamazoo bank in February and then spent more than $2,000 at a local strip club was sentenced to prison Friday. Daniel Augustine Solis, 28, pleaded guilty in June to robbing the Chase Bank at 141 E. Michigan Ave. in Kalamazoo. Solis, according to his arrest affidavit, entered the bank at around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and handed a bank teller a demand note. She allegedly filmed multiple assaults, which she then sent to Solis after he moved to Kalamazoo, according to the Spokesman Review story. Solis, who moved from Washington to Michigan in December 2019, was arrested in connection with the Chase Bank robbery Thursday, Feb. 13.mlive.com

Police say the attacker was masked and wearing all black. There was an argument before the stabber attacked the victim and ran off, police say. The victims injuries are not life threatening.

Michigan Avenue just after 5 p.m. Police said the man was unarmed.
