CARROLLTON TWP, MI — A mother and her daughter are hospitalized after suffering severe injuries when they were struck by a car while crossing a Carrollton Township road. At about 10:32 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, Carrollton Township police responded to the car-pedestrian crash on North Michigan Avenue near Stoker Drive. They arrived to find a 2011 Chevrolet Impala that had struck a 30-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter, said Sgt. The mother and daughter are not Carrollton Township residents. Carrollton Township officers were assisted at the scene by the Saginaw County Crash Team.

BRIDGEPORT TWP, MI — A crash in Bridgeport Township involving a stolen vehicle has left a 3-month-old baby hospitalized. The Saturn crashed into the Impala, which was driven by a 38-year-old woman. Both drivers and the baby were taken to Covenant HealthCare hospital, with the baby being in critical condition. The Impala had been reported stolen out of Flint on April 20. Once they have completed their investigation, they will forward their reports to the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

At 6:39 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on East Wheeler Road just east of North Waldo Road in Midland Township. They arrived to find a westbound black 2014 Chevrolet Impala had failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The driver’s side airbag was deployed, though it appears the driver was not wearing her seatbelt, deputies said. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Larkin and Midland Township Fire Departments, MyMidMichigan EMS, and the Midland County Medical Examiner.

The crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 on South Dort Highway near Lapeer Road. An investigation has revealed the victim’s vehicle, a white pickup truck, was headed south on South Dort Highway when his truck was hit by a black Chevrolet Impala that was turning from westbound Lapeer Road onto southbound Dort Highway, according to a Flint Police Department news release. The victim, 22-year-old Isaac Emile Hancock, was ejected from the white pickup truck and pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed, alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor in the fatal crash, police said.

He is currently lodged at the Lucas County Jail, pending extradition to Michigan for face charges of armed robbery, felonious assault and more. Man strikes car, leads officers on chase
A 31-year-old Toledo man faces a litany of charges, including strong armed robbery and felonious assault, after reportedly leading Monroe County Sheriffs Deputies and Toledo Police Department officers on a low-speed chase Saturday evening. The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. and began at the Rite Aid Store located at 7358 Secor Rd. Refusing all of the officer’s verbal commands, the man entered the suspect vehicle and put it in reverse, striking the front of the deputy’s patrol vehicle before pulling forward and fleeing the scene southbound on Secor. Deputies pursued the suspect at low speeds southbound on Secor Rd into Toledo and subsequently turned the pursuit over to members of the Toledo Police Department. According to authorities, at about 9 p.m. in the 19300 block Westmoreland Road, three men were sitting in a black Chevrolet Impala when a dark Jeep Cherokee approached. As the victims attempted to flee, the Jeep followed, firing multiple shots into the Impala. At about 9:05 p.m., a surveillance camera at a gas station on McNichols Road captured the Jeep pulling up and getting gas. Surveillance video of the two men and the Jeep can be seen above.
Driver fleeing from police causes deadly crash on 8 Mile Road
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - An innocent driver was killed Saturday when their vehicle was struck by someone fleeing the police. The crash happened about a mile away at the intersection of Eight Mile and Inkster roads. Southfield and Farmington Hills police closed down Eight Mile Road for several hours while investigating. Latoya Massey was driving on Eight Mile Road and saw it all unfold. "Police came and grabbed the body out of the black Impala," Massey said.
