Royal Oak man charged with felonious assault after pointing rifle at police officer

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A 34-year-old man has been charged for felonious assault after pointing a rifle at a police officer, police say. In an attempt to speak to the man, an officer approached Moss’ front porch and rang the doorbell. Moss reportedly appeared behind the door pointing a rifle at the officer while demanding to know why they were at his home.

Monroe County hit-and-run, armed robbery suspect arrested after police pursuit into Toledo

TOLEDO – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of crimes after a two-state police pursuit Saturday night. Just after 5 p.m., a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy in Lambertville, just north of Toledo, was informed by a citizen of a damaged black Impala parked at a Rite Aid Pharmacy located near the intersection of Secor and Sterns roads. Deputies pursued the suspect southbound into Toledo, where they turned the pursuit over to the Toledo Police Department, who took the man into custody. He is currently lodged at the Lucas County Jail, pending extradition to Michigan for face charges of armed robbery, felonious assault and more. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriffs Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.

Detroit man charged after ‘violently' physically assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, officials say

DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged in connection with the assault and torture of his pregnant girlfriend, according to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office. Billy Ray Cromer, 30, has been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, torture and felonious assault. Officials said the incident occurred on Friday at 8 p.m. in the 8830 block of Rosemont Avenue in Detroit. Cromer is accused of going to the home he shared with his girlfriend and violently physically assaulting her. He is accused of grabbing her by the neck, choking her, and repeatedly punching her in the stomach and head.

Detroit police seeking man in connection with assault at gas station on Mack Avenue

DETROIT – Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man in connection with a felonious assault on Detroit’s east side. Detroit Police said that at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 8, a male victim was at a gas station in the 14400 block of Mack Avenue and initiated a conversation with the alleged suspect. The suspect then walked out of the gas station and entered the passenger side of an Audi SUV. Police said prior to leaving the gas station, the alleged suspect pushed the victim in the face and then fled the area, heading west on Mack Avenue. The suspect is described as a Black man in his late teens to early 20s, slim build, wearing a black face mask.

Man charged in assault of 2 men with baseball bat in Putnam Township

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. A 41-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting two people with a baseball bat in Putnam Township last week. The two victims, who are acquaintances from Putnam Township, were taken to the hospital and treated for serious injuries, police said. The Livingston County Sheriffs Office says Seely initially fled the scene of the incident, but was later arrested at his residence in Stockbridge. Officials say the Livingston County Regional SWAT Team was deployed to Seelys residence in the 3900 block of Dexter Trail. The man is being held at the Livingston County Jail on a $1,000,00 cash bond.

Couple charged after guns drawn in Orion Township parking lot bound over for trial

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A couple charged with felonious assault in connection with guns being drawn during an altercation in an Orion Township parking lot have been bound over for trial. Jillian Wuestenberg and Eric Wuestenberg were arrested and charged earlier this month. Jillian Wuestenberg said she thought she bumped into the door and not into a person. “I was at the sliding door of the van and she came out and proceeded to yell at me,” Jillian Wuestenberg said. Attorneys for both parties said their clients were overwhelmed after the video went viral.

Couple charged with felonious assault after woman points gun at family outside Orion Township Chipotle

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A couple is facing felonious assault charges after a White woman pulled a gun on a Black mother and her two daughters at an Orion Township Chipotle. Officials said the woman was leaving Chipotle with her food and the mother and her daughters were going in. It happened on Wednesday at about 6 p.m. in a quiet shopping area outside a Chipotle Mexican Grill on Baldwin Road. Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were there almost immediately after calls were placed to 911. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the couple claimed to fear for their lives after their vehicle was struck with a hand by the other party.

Troy man arrested for striking protester with vehicle near Somerset Collection

TROY, Mich. – A crowd gathered outside of the Somerset Collection mall in Troy to protest police brutality following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week. During that protest someone was struck by a vehicle, according to police. Somerset Collection reopened its doors on Friday, as the state began to reopen amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Troy police arrested a 68-year-old man from Troy for felonious assault for striking the protester on North Coolidge at Big Beaver Road.

Iosco Township man charged with felonious assault after police say he shot at another man during argument

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. An Iosco Township man has been charged with felonious assault. Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriffs Office responded to the Countryway Market in Handy Township on Saturday at 6:20 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Police said as the victim was leaving the area the suspect, Michael Joseph Libtow, 31, of Iosco Township, attempted to block the roadway with his vehicle. Libtow was taken into custody and loged at the Livingston County Jail without further incident. Libtow was arraigned on Monday at the 53rd District Court in Howell and was charged with one count of felonious assault.
