The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Hurley Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A 26-year-old Holland woman was injured when another driver reportedly veered into her lane, causing a collision. The crash remains under investigation, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Just before 11 p.m. Monday, March 21, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Riley Street, near Westland Court, in Ottawa County’s Holland Township. The driver of the Honda, a 26-year-old Holland woman, suffered non-life threatening injuries from the crash and was transported by AMR to the Holland Community Hospital, police said in the release. NEWAYGO COUNTY, MI — A driver was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer, the Michigan State Police reports. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post are investigating the fatal traffic crash that happened about 6:38 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the intersection of 80th and Maple Island Roads, in Newaygo County’s Sheridan Township. MI -- Three people were injured early Saturday, Oct. 16 after a 16-year-old driver struck a tree, police said. The crash happened about 12:20 a.m. in the area of Garfield and Elm streets in Holland Township. The area is near Butternut Drive and James Street. Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said a 16-year-old Holland girl was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. JACKSON, MI -- A crash between two vehicles near downtown Jackson left two people in the hospital, with one teen in “critical” condition, police said. At about 8:04 p.m. on June 12, Jackson police officers responded to a traffic crash on South Cooper Street near East Franklin Street, near the Jackson Glassworks building. Police director Elmer Hitt said prior to the crash, a 2003 Honda and a 2003 Mercury were both traveling northbound on Cooper Street. The teen was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Health and then transferred to Mott Children’s Hospital, where she is currently in critical condition, Hitt said. A gold Honda car rolled over and a black pickup truck fled the scene of the crash around 1:33 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, on southbound U.S. 131, just north of I-94, Portage Department of Public Safety said in a news release. Honda, General Motors sign deal to work on vehicles together
DETROIT General Motors and Honda say they have signed a deal to explore sharing vehicle underpinnings and propulsion systems in North America. The companies say planning discussions on jointly-designed vehicles will start immediately and include vehicles powered by both electricity and internal combustion engines. Honda and GM say in a statement Thursday that they'll also cooperate on purchasing, research and connected services. In April the companies announced they would jointly develop two electric vehicles for Honda based on GM's global electric vehicle platform. NEW YORK Honda has reached an $85 million settlement with multiple states over allegations that it hid safety failures in the airbags of certain Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the U.S. The settlement was announced by James Tuesday, but involved attorneys general from 48 states. Honda has recalled approximately 12.9 million Honda and Acura vehicles equipped with the defective inflators since 2008. DETROIT Police are investigating after they said two women and an 8-month-old baby were shot on Detroits east side on Friday evening. Police said the three victims were in a black Honda SUV when a suspect drove up in a Dodge Ram opened fire, and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a Black man who is heavy-set and was wearing a black shirt, white stripe pants and white shoes. The 8-month-old is listed as in critical condition, according to police. Officers responded to a 911 call of a carjacking Thursday at 9:20 p.m. outside the gas station at 31001 Woodward Avenue. The caller reported that a man stole a red Honda CRV from a woman along with her cellphone at the gas station and fled the scene. The clerk said a man was inside the store who said he had been assaulted by an unknown subject. Officers responded and discovered man was the suspect from the carjacking incident.

Honda recalls 1.6 million vehicles over Takata airbags
TOKYO - Honda is recalling 1.6 million vehicles in the last phase of its efforts to replace potentially deadly Takata airbags, the company announced Friday. Honda is ahead of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's schedule for replacing the Takata airbag inflators, the carmaker said in a statement. Honda in March confirmed 14 deaths and more than 200 injuries in the US related to Takata airbag driver's front inflator ruptures. A chemical drying agent used in the inflators could cause airbags to rupture, Takata said. Upon bursting, some Takata airbags caused shrapnel to explode forward into passengers and drivers, injuring or killing some.
