Two days later, the twins' mother, Lisa Reed, was charged with first-degree child abuse. It’s been nearly two months, but Gibson, who fled from the hospital and was later caught by police, has also been arraigned on first-degree child abuse charges. He was convicted of child abuse 15 years ago and had been serving time for carjacking, police said.

Charges are still pending against her regarding the death of her other son Zyaire, officials said. He did serve a year in jail after a child abuse conviction, but he was in and out of prison since 2007 because of a carjacking conviction.

Inspector Timothy Sassak with the Ecorse Police Department said when police responded to Renaissance Estates in Ecorse at around 5 a.m. they found a baby on the hood of a car with unspeakable injuries.
