3 people fatally shot inside Indiana apartment were from Detroit
Officers called to a home in the Elgin Manor Apartments complex Friday morning found the bodies of Adrian Demarlo George Jr., 30; Devonte Earl Hollis, 25, and Terence Thomas, 27, Police Chief Nate Sloan said. – Three Michigan men have been identified as the victims of a fatal shooting at an apartment in Muncie, police said. Officers called to a home in the Elgin Manor Apartments complex Friday morning found the bodies of Adrian Demarlo George Jr., 30; Devonte Earl Hollis, 25, and Terence Thomas, 27, Police Chief Nate Sloan said. “All of the men had succumbed to gunshot wounds and were from the Detroit, Mich., area,” Sloan said in a news release. City police and other agencies were continuing to investigate the slayings, Sloan said.

2 dead in Detroit house fire on Tracey Street
DETROIT – A man and woman died in a Detroit house fire on Tracey Street that happened Monday afternoon, the Detroit Fire Department confirmed. According to DFD Deputy Fire Commissioner, Dave Fornell, one of the victims was 78 years old and the other was in their 60s. They were already dead even before we technically arrived,” said Detroit Fire Chief Marvin Parker. Victims in 2 Detroit carjackings robbed at gunpoint
(WDIV)DETROIT – Police are investigating two separate carjackings that happened one day apart in Detroit. Police say the second carjacker was Black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and also had on a ski mask. Officials describe the first carjacker as Black, 6 feet, 1 inch tall wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun. The second carjacker is described as Black with a medium build and had on a trench coat with black pants. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Commercial Auto Theft Unit at 313-596-2555.
Ferndale resident caught recording unclothed victims in restroom with hidden camera
FERNDALE, Mich. – Ferndale resident Tyler Tierney, 29, has been charged in connection with recording unclothed victims in a restroom with a hidden camera. Detectives identified and interviewed all the victims of the crimes. The investigation into Tierney’s recordings started in July of 2020. Tierney was arraigned today on five counts of surveilling an unclothed person. He was given a $20,000 personal bond and is scheduled to appear next on Nov. 23.

In 2019, most hate crime incidents (24.6%) occurred in or near residences/homes. The location was reported as other/unknown for 11.2% of hate crime incidents. The remaining 27.3% of hate crime incidents took place at other or multiple locations.
One dead, another injured in shooting at Eastland Center in Harper Woods
HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Harper Woods police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old who was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head Thursday evening in the Eastland Center parking lot. An 18-year-old was located nearby in a vehicle, also with a gunshot wound in the head. Officers discovered that a vehicle crashed into a baseball field adjacent to Harper Woods High School. Belle Isle memorial set to display 900 of 1,500 Detroiters lost to COVID-19
DETROIT The city of Detroit is set to unveil a memorial on Belle Isle displaying the pictures of 900 of the 1,500 Detroiters lost to coronavirus. Denice Chandler lost her husband and father to COVID-19. I would have never thought when I dropped him off at the hospital that it would have been the last time that I will see my husband, Chandler said. Richard, along with her father, will be remembered Monday as a part of a powerful memorial on Belle Isle in which 14 funeral processions are set to drive past nearly 900 photos of loved ones lost to COVID-19. I will forever keep this memory of what the city has done for all of our families, Chandler said.

Some families watched Schijns speak from a public gallery in the court on the edge of the airport from where the doomed flight took off. Prosecutors allege that the missile that downed flight MH17 was trucked into Ukraine from a Russian military base. In addition to the grief they face because of the loss of their dearest, they are additionally injured by Russias attitude, she told judges.

DETROIT – The city of Detroit is set to unveil a collage image with the faces of 900 of the city’s COVID-19 victims. The city was hit particularly hard by the coronavirus in March and April. Overall, the Detroit Health Department reports 13,522 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,507 deaths related to the disease since March. The collage of victim’s faces will be used during the memorial drive on Monday, Aug. 31, Mayor Mike Duggan’s office said. Families of victims had been encouraged to share photos for the collage.

Police: Stabbing suspect barricaded himself in Royal Oak apartment, attacked officers
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Brandon Newberry, 22, is facing charges in connection with a double stabbing that happened Friday night in the 2500 block of Rochester in Royal Oak. According to Royal Oak police, multiple 911 calls were made about the double stabbing while it was happening at around 11:30 p.m. Friday night. Officers put a tourniquet on the male victim’s arm for his cut and separated the victims from the apartment to be treated by responding Royal Oak Fire Department personnel. Newberry spit at and kicked officers as they attempted to escort him to their patrol car. In the hallway of the cellblock area, Newberry intentionally kicked over buckets that were collecting water from the leaking roof.
Two shot by known person while inside car in Detroit
DETROIT – Two people were shot in the 19100 block of Stahelin in Detroit Monday afternoon, according to Detroit police. Both of the victims, a 16-year-old male and 46-year-old male, are in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown. According to police the two victims were inside a car in the area when someone walked up to it and started firing shots at them.
