Body of missing 51-year-old woman found in Detroit River near home

The body of a missing 51-year-old woman has been found in the Detroit River near her Grosse Ile home, police said.

Grosse Ile police officers on Monday discovered the body of Christine Chiles.

Boy dragged by truck

 A 9-year-old boy and his mother were hit by a truck Monday when the driver ran a red light as they crossed the street on Detroit's east side, police said.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Monday at Kelly Road and Morang Avenue, according to authorities.

Thanksgiving parade

The Detroit Youth Choir and former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer will serve as this year's America's Thanksgiving Day Parade Grand Marshals.

The choir made it to the final round of "America's Got Talent" this season. Archer served as mayor from 1994 to 2001 and on the Michigan Supreme Court from 1986-1990.

Dearborn murder

 A man has been charged with murder after a Taylor mother was found dead in a Dearborn field.

Sherry Ann Kietrys, 34, of Taylor, was found dead around 7:45 a.m. Friday in a field near Paul Street and the Southfield Freeway in Dearborn, police said.
