A mother and her four-year-old daughter are in the ICU tonight after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Detroit’s east side. Police say a stolen truck hit them at Beaconsfield and Courville streets last week, with everyone in that car then taking off.

Ford announces plan to build $700 million electric truck factory in Dearborn
DEARBORN, Mich. – Ford Motor Company unveiled a plan Thursday to create 300 jobs and build a $700 million electric truck plant at Dearborn’s Rouge complex. The new Ford F-150 is expected to fund the electric F-150 and the plant where they build it, and a new plant is just what the Michigan economy ordered. “Today, I’m pleased to announce the new Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, which is under construction,” Ford Executive Chairman William Clay Ford Jr. said. Guidehouse insights auto analyst Sam Abuelsamid said the electric F-150 comes with another huge difference. “The electric F-150 will have 40% lower total costs of ownership over its lifespan, and that includes when you factor in the price of the vehicle service and fuel,” Abuelsamid said.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. Police are asking for help with finding out who left a teen critically injured after hitting him in the streets. However, life is going to slow down for Lewis Higgins, the victim of a hit-and-run. Witnesses say it was a newer model white Ford F-150 that hit Lewis and crashed. From a University of Michigan hospital room, Lewis parents spoke about how hard it has been to get through the whole thing. Those with any information on the car suspected of hitting the teen are being asked to contact the Livingston County Sheriffs Department.

64-year-old woman struck, killed by moving car while walking in the street in Whiteford Township
WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a moving vehicle in Whiteford Township on Wednesday, police say. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office says the woman, from Long Beach, New York, was walking south in the southbound travel lane on Clark Road south of Yankee Road around 4 a.m. when she was struck by a blue 2016 Ford F-150 also traveling southbound. Officials say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say it is unclear why the woman was walking in the road. Detroit police seek person of interest in connection with pickup truck arson
DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for a person who may have information about an arson after a pickup truck was set on fire on the city’s west side in September. Police said a man was seen exiting a 2018 Ford F-150 that was parked in the 9200 block of Freeland Street about 4:10 a.m. on Sept. 25. Investigators want to talk to the man seen leaving the truck. He was last seen walking north on Freeland, wearing a red sweatshirt with a black Nike logo and gray sweatpants. Trailer, loader stolen from Canton Township business by driver of white pickup truck, police say
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The driver of a white pickup truck stole a 16-foot trailer and a Caterpillar loader from a business in Canton Township, police said. The pickup truck returned at 4:48 a.m. Oct. 12 and left with a Caterpillar loader, according to authorities. Police said the white Ford F-150 pickup truck has a black hood, black rims and a round sticker on the driver’s side rear window. Anyone with information is asked to call Canton Township police at 734-394-5420. A pickup truck involved in two thefts from a business in Canton Township, police said.

Ford shows off electric F-150 pickup by towing freight train
Now Ford, maker of America's most popular pickup truck, is already pushing back with a demonstration of what its planned electric F-150 could be capable of doing. Ford released video of a prototype electric F-150 towing a line of freight train cars weighing, according to Ford, over 1 million pounds. After that was done, Ford added train cars carrying 42 F-150 pickups -- one for every year that the Ford F-series has been the bestselling truck in America -- and Zhang pulled the train again. Ford pointed out that this was a "one-time short event demonstration," in which the prototype was "towing far beyond any production truck's published capacity." Ford did not say what sort of battery power, electric motors or gear ratios the prototype truck was using.
