New inmates to be tested for COVID-19 before entry after outbreak hits Macomb County Jail
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. โ An outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) inside the Macomb County Jail has forced the isolation of nearly 150 inmates. The jail will now be testing every single person coming into the jail even if they donโt have any symptoms. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said theyโve done their best to keep COVID-19 out of the jail. Chesterfield man arrested, accused of shooting at random homes
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the Chesterfield Township Police Department Wednesday on suspicion of multiple drive-by shootings. According to authorities, Christian Koussa is charged with discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, a felony charge. Police said on Sept. 12, multiple homes were randomly targeted in drive-by shootings in an area near Donner Road and I-94. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years imprisonment. Police seize 3 guns from vehicle of drunk driver found unconscious in Macomb County
BRUCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. On Friday, Michigan State Police were sent to the area of Brown and Ebeling roads in Bruce Township after receiving information on a driver being slumped over the wheel. When police located the vehicle it was running. The unconscious driver, a 26-year-old Armada man, was found drunk and arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. Police seized three guns from the vehicle. The driver was taken to the Macomb County Jail pending charges of OWI-High BAC and possession of firearm while intoxicated.
Police: 3 arrested for fake checks that look like those given to released Macomb County Jail inmates
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. - Two women and a man have been charged with creating fake checks that look like the ones given to released Macomb County Jail inmates and using them at party stores throughout Oakland and Macomb counties, officials said. Deputies said the checks looked nearly identical to the ones given by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office to inmates when they're released from jail. The fake checks had a Macomb County Sheriff's Office logo in the upper right corner with the address and "inmate funds." The fake checks varied in amounts from $300 to $725 and were all dated July 3, July 5 or July 7, officials said. They were made out to people who were not inmates at the Macomb County Jail, according to authorities.
