Well-known Detroit rapper Big Sean is teaming up with movie theater chain Emagine Entertainment to sell exclusive merchandise and donate proceeds to charity as the second “Black Panther” movie hits the big screen.

March is Women’s History Month and all month long Live in the D will be featuring women making an impact in their fields. Today’s “Boss Lady” is in the music industry and has already seen her name in lights with a Grammy award under her belt. Antea “A Plus” Birchett is a Detroit native who writes songs for many stars you may know like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Mary Mary, Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, and more. She is also currently providing vocal coaching lessons for the National Geographic Genius “Aretha” series stars and vocalists. LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles prosecutors on Thursday charged rapper Tory Lanez with shooting artist Megan Thee Stallion during an argument earlier this year. Lanez is accused of shooting at Megan Thee Stallion's feet, hitting her, after she left a SUV during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, according to a release. The complaint states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez, a 27-year-old Canadian rapper and singer whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is due to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. At the time of the shooting, Megan Thee Stallion was already a major hip-hop star following a triumphant year that saw her nominated for artist of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Questions surround killing of Florida musician by plainclothes cop
An independent investigation is underway in Florida after the deadly shooting of a Delray Beach city employee, Corey Jones, by a police officer. The 31-year-old moonlighted as musician and was on his way home from a gig last weekend when his car broke down. Michelle Miller reports on how within hours, he was killed.
