Decomposed body found in clothing donation bin, police say
DETROIT – The decomposed body of an unidentified male was discovered in a clothing donation bin on Detroit’s east side on Wednesday, Aug. 25, The Detroit News reports. The clothing bin is located near the intersection of East Warren Avenue and Alter Road outside a shuttered restaurant, the report said. No additional information has been released. Police shoot man armed with rifle on Detroit east side, pointing weapon at officers
DETROIT – Detroit police shoot a man Thursday after they said he pointed his rifle at officers. The man was shot one time at the intersection of East Warren Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. The man murdered that night is believed to be the cousin of the man shot on Thursday, according to people who know him.
Detroit patrol officers, another driver injured in collision on Garland Street, East Warren
DETROIT – Two Detroit patrol officers and another driver were injured in a collision Friday night at the intersection of Garland Street and East Warren. A preliminary investigation revealed that at about 8 p.m., the officers from Detroit Police Department’s Seventh Precinct were traveling south on Garland Street when they collided with a 29-year-old driver traveling east in a Pontac G6 on East Warren. Police said the impact of the collision caused the police vehicle to crash into a nearby church. The driver in the Pontiac G6 was taken to a hospital and was listed in temporary serious condition. The officers were listed in stable condition, and one officer has already been discharged.
Search for driver in hit-and-run crash on Detroit's east side continues
DETROIT - The search continues for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that happened Friday night on East Warren Avenue near Dickerson. Police say a 47-year-old man died at the scene of the crash. Authorities believe he was hit by a gray four door Sedan that took off down Dickerson. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 800-SPEAK-UP.
