Celebrate your spouse
Tomorrow is National Spouses Day. In celebration we gathered a group of Live In The D friends to talk about the joys, and challenges of life with their spouse. Jason Carr sat down with Mary Liz Curtin, owner of Leon Lulu and Three Cats Restaurant in Clawson, Vanessa Cohen, co-owner of the Cohen Brand, and Movie Reviewer Greg Russell. Between all three of them, they have more than 50 years of life experience being married to their spouse. The group talked about everything from whether opposites attract, to strategies to reconciling marital disagreements, to what it takes to have a long successful relationship with your spouse.
You could create the next catchy jingle for this Metro Detroit store!
Clawson Think of a commercial jingle - like Kit Kat, Chilis, or Folgers - you can likely sing the jingles in your head. She explained that since Leon and Lulu didnt have a jingle, and a lot of local musicians are out of work at the moment, she wanted to create a contest with a big cash prize to make a jingle for her store. Picking the winner will be a team of judges, including local musician Ann Delisi, local performer Ellen Doster, Local 4s Devin Scillian, and Mary Liz Curtin. If you are craving something to eat, their sister restaurant, Three Cats, is offering to-go meals you can heat up at home. Leon & Lulu and Three Cats are located at 96 West 14 Mile Road, Clawson, MI 48017.
What's The Buzz: Do you know how to do these life skills?
This week for "What's the Buzz," we're talking all about life skills. All panel members had paddles that when asked if they knew how to do a certain life skill, they answered either "I go this," or "I need help". Mary Liz Curtin impressively knew how to do all the life skills, including balancing finances and sewing a button. Kila Peeples joined the couch to go over some of the answers that were posted on our Facebook page. "What's the Buzz" airs every Monday on Live in the D. If you want to be a part of the conversation, look for the topic to be posted on the Live in the D Facebook page every Sunday afternoon.
