The clock is ticking toward the weekend, and you know there’s always something fun happening around the D. This weekend there’s a variety of events on tap, starting with a pre-weekend Jazz event. “In the Tradition,” jazz ensemble has a performance at the Aretha Jazz Cafe, located inside the Detroit Music Hall. The 10 piece band based in Detroit describes its sound as jazz, with an African centered perspective. The concert is tonight at 8pm.

The Motor City Comic Con is scheduled to return in Novi on Oct. 16 and 17.

Novi – Are you talented? The NBC show, “America’s Got Talent” is in search of their next big star and you could be it! People are flocking to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi to audition for the show. After registering, hopefuls are led to the holding room where everyone practices and prepares as they wait for their auditions. NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” is bringing auditions to Detroit in January for Season 15! Last year, the Detroit Youth Choir finished as the runner-up in Season 14 - it was a magical run. Now, AGT is looking for more Detroit talent. If you do not think you will be able to audition in person, you can submit an online video of your audition.
