3 top law schools quit US News rankings over equity concerns
The University of California, Berkeley’s law school on Thursday joined the law programs at Harvard and Yale in pulling out of U.S. News & World Report’s rankings over concerns that they punish efforts to attract students from a broad range of backgrounds.
Detroit hospital ranked No. 2 pediatric care facility in Michigan
Children’s Hospital of Michigan announced Monday that U.S. News & World Report had ranked the hospital in six pediatric specialties, including cancer, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.

University of Michigan ranked No. 3 top public school in country
ANN ARBOR – The University of Michigan has held onto its spot as the No. 3 top public school in the nation for the second year in a row, according to U.S. News & World Report. U-M trailed University of California - Los Angeles and University of California - Berkeley, which ranked first and second, respectively. 6 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs. University of Michigan has an undergraduate enrollment of 31,266 and costs $15,948 for in-state students and $52,266 for out-of-state students.

Report names best colleges in America
The latest U.S. News & World Report college rankings dropped Monday and they're sure to put high school students -- and more so, their parents -- in a frenzy as they prepare to apply to colleges this autumn. The latest release marks the 35th edition of the Best Colleges ranking, and it's the first time schools in Puerto Rico, Guam and other U.S. territories are included. Are these rankings actually relevant? But not everyone thinks these rankings actually matter. Then again, Forbes publishes their own college ranking list every year, too.

Michigan Medicine ranked No. 11 hospital in nation by U.S. News & World Report
ANN ARBOR - Another list, another high ranking for Michigan Medicine. U.S. News & World Report just released its "Best Hospitals" rankings for 2019-20, and Michigan Medicine ranked as the top hospital in the state and No. 11 in the U.S. USNWR gave Michigan Medicine its Honor Roll distinction, an award given to just 20 hospitals in the country that give the highest quality of care spanning various procedures, specialties and conditions. U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals and just 3 percent -- or 165 hospitals -- earned even one spot on the rankings. "An Honor Roll national ranking is clearly an honor," Jeffrey Desmond, M.D., chief medical officer of Michigan Medicine, said in a statement.

Michigan moves up 'Best State Rankings,' increasing lead over Ohio
The U.S. News & World Report released their 2019 Best States Rankings this week. The Best States ranking of U.S. states draws on thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens. The top five states (best) in the rankings are:1. Michigan ranked in the middle for all major categories, but ranked in the bottom ten for infrastructure. A few years back, Thrillist named Michigan the best state in the U.S., which we're holding onto forever.

Best places to retire in US
U.S. News & World Report released a list of the best cities to retire to. Here are the top 10.
