DETROIT โ A Detroit toddler is in critical condition after police say she was accidentally shot by her own mother during an argument with a neighbor. It happened last night on the cityโs west side allegedly over an argument about food delivery. Amos is feeling the unimaginable pain of her granddaughter being shot allegedly at the hands of her own mother during a feud with the neighbor next door. But Monday night things seemed to come to a head when food was delivered to the wrong home. An argument broke out between the two and the neighbor decided to grab a hammer allegedly ready to attack.
Teen accidentally drops gun, shoots himself in Detroit, police say
DETROIT โ A teenager reportedly dropped his gun on accident and shot himself in Detroit early Sunday morning, according to police. Detroit police say at about 2 a.m. in the 9000 block of Grandville Avenue, the 18-year-old boy reported that he accidentally dropped his gun, which then discharged and struck him. He was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. Officials did not identify the location of the boyโs gunshot wound. Teen charged in alleged accidental shooting of 17-year-old boy in head at Roseville home
ROSEVILLE, Mich. โ A Warren teenager is facing multiple charges after allegedly firing a handgun on accident at a Roseville home Saturday night, shooting another teen in the head. Donovan Anthony Harbus, 19, was charged Tuesday with carrying a concealed weapon, a five-year felony, and careless discharge of a firearm causing injury, a misdemeanor charge. At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the head during a small gathering in the 17000 block of Ivanhoe Street. Police say Harbus and another individual were showing each other their illegal handguns when Harbus unintentionally discharged the weapon, striking the victim in the head. The 17-year-old boy was transported to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
2 shot at youth deer hunting event in St. Clair County
CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Two people were rushed to the hospital Sunday after being shot during a youth deer hunting event in in Clay Township. Police said it happened as they were out searching for a deer off Benoit Road in St. Clair County. According to authorities, the first person was shot in the woods on private property and another person was shot trying to unload the gun. Police did not reveal the ages of the victims or their conditions. The chief of police said the event is for young people to hunt, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Detroit police investigate death of 16-year-old in accidental shooting
DETROIT โ Detroit police are investigating an accidental shooting that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old Sunday afternoon on Rosemary Street. A preliminary investigation indicated that at about 1:20 p.m., the teen was in a vehicle with a 19-year-old relative. The relative allegedly mishandled a gun, which then discharged and struck the victim. The 16-year-old was privately taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detroit police say CPL holder killed man in accidental shooting
DETROIT โ Detroit police said a CPL holder accidentally shot and killed a man on the cityโs west side with a gun he didnโt know was loaded. Spicer said she still remembers the intense moments when she stepped outside to find police officers bombarding her neighborhood. โThey were out there all night.โPolice were investigating what appeared to be the murder of a 24-year-old man. The 22-year-old man accused of pulling the trigger is a registered CPL holder who was showing off a new handgun, according to authorities. โSo I had told my friend that he must have gotten a devastating phone call.โThe 22-year-old is still in police custody.
