And Annie Ransford, president of the Friends of Theodore Roethke Foundation, says it’s not going anywhere. Since then, the Friends of Theodore Roethke Foundation secured donations and grants, welcomed new board members and moved forward with a plan to restore and bring new life to the Stone House. Roethke’s childhood home-turned-museum stands at 1805 Gratiot, and his uncle Carl Roethke’s Stone House is next door at 1759 Gratiot.
