Blue Angels to fly over Metro Detroit today: How and where to see them

WATCH: Go inside a Navy Blue Angels plane during a flyover for frontline workersThe announcement follows news that the Michigan Air National Guard will also conduct flyovers across the state in honor of COVID-19 frontline workers on Tuesday and Wednesday. The guard’s 127th wing announced a tentative flyover schedule in a Facebook post with plans to visit Marquette, Lansing, Flint, Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Novi and Detroit.
Metro Detroit weather: Severe storm threat this afternoon
DETROIT - The threat for severe storms around Metro Detroit today has been upgraded. The Storm Prediction Center has most of Metro Detroit now in a Slight Risk for severe storms. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for Genesee, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. A severe thunderstorm warning has expired for northwestern Wayne County, southwestern Oakland County, southeastern Livingston County and northeastern Washtenaw County. Your morning commute may be impacted by the potential of heavy rain, the stronger storm threat will be through the early afternoon.

We are sorry to say humidity will be increasing as we head into the weekend. -- starting at 9 p.m. today both directions of Big Beaver Road will have the left lane closed directly under I-75 for ongoing bridge work. Excessive Heat Warning for Ann Arbor Art Fair weekend
We're under an Excessive Heat Warning through 8 p.m. Saturday. Heat indices will peak during the afternoon hours in the 100 to 110 degree range. Low temperatures will only fall into the 70s each night limiting the possible relief from the heat. 30 construction projects start TODAY
The temperature is slightly cooler than last week but we should see some warming through the week. You read that correctly: THIRTY road construction projects are slated to begin today around Metro Detroit. MDOT expects the projects to be completed between the middle and end of July. The program kicks off today in Detroit at the Wayne County Community College District's Health Science Center -- 8200 Outer Drive West, Detroit, MI 48219. The program will begin TODAY and last through Friday, July 19, with a selective group of 35 students.

Overnight closures on I-75 | Democratic debates part 2
There is a risk for some of them to be severe, so we'll be keeping a close eye on the radar today. Overnight closures on I-75 Speaking of construction, watch out for this one in Oakland County: MDOT said crews will close both directions of I-75 during the overnight hours starting today and lasting through Tuesday, July 2. The full closures will occur between Big Beaver Road and Corporate Drive/Crooks Road and are needed for setting new bridge beams on the overpasses at Wattles Road and Corporate Drive. Both directions of I-75 will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. the following mornings.
