A man and a woman were taken into custody overnight after they fired shots at a gas station, stole a car, led officers on a chase and then rammed into police vehicles in Macomb County, according to authorities.
Man’s body found outside medical center in Macomb Township
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man’s body was found Tuesday morning outside the Ascension St. John Hospital Health Center at 23 Mile and Romeo Plank roads in Macomb Township. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said this death is “suspicious in nature.”No other information is available at this time.
Shelby Township police seek missing 52-year-old man
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are searching for a missing 52-year-old man named Scott Caswell who was last seen leaving work on 23 Mile and Mound roads March 11. According to police, Caswell was driving a 2011 white Ford Super Duty with the Florida plate number JXIZ75 northbound on Mound Road. Stabbing suspect arrested after police chase on I-94 in Macomb County
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A man suspected of stabbing another man was arrested after leading police on a chase on Interstate 94. The incident on Tuesday began in Clinton Township on North Avenue. Police said the man is believed to have stabbed a man multiple times. He was later spotted on 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township on and tried to outrun police. A video of the chase obtained by Local 4 showed the man swerving on the shoulder of I-94.
2 killed in crash after car crosses centerline of 23 Mile Road
Police are investigating a crash that killed two people and injured another in Macomb County. According to authorities, the collision happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when the driver of a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V lost control on the westbound lanes of 23 Mile Road and drove into the eastbound lanes, striking a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. Demonstrators have held multiple protests in Shelby Township after Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide made racist comments about protests on social media. They were violating people.”Detroit Will Breathe reported a woman who was protesting was strip searched by the Shelby police. Detroit Will Breathe said protesters they marched to the Shelby Township Police Department for jail support -- to check on detainees, see if they post bail and have a lawyer -- where they said they were attacked by police. Shelby police said they would release its footage of the protest soon.

Video shows suspected shoplifter fleeing police on I-94 in Chesterfield Township

A 37-year-old Mount Clemens man suspected of shoplifting at a Target on Gratiot Avenue and 23 Mile Road Chesterfield Township was arrested after he led police on a vehicle chase Tuesday evening. Chesterfield Township police were called to the store at about 6:24 p.m. after store personnel reported that the suspect had stolen electronic equipment. He was located going west toward I-94 at 23 Mile Road, leading to the chase that was captured on police dashcam video. A suspected shoplifter was arrested Tuesday, July 28, 2019, after leading police on a vehicle chase in Chesterfield Township. Protesters gather in Shelby Township after police chief Robert Shelide’s suspension ends
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide is back on the job after being suspended for comments he made on social media about the George Floyd protests. Shelide returned to work on Friday and protesters showed up on Monday in opposition. At one point, protesters shut down a major intersection. On Monday, protesters marched up and down Van Dyke. The march culminated at Van Dyke and 23 Mile Road, where protesters shut the intersection down.
Man hunting for mushrooms in Macomb County finds remains of missing man
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. The remains of a 35-year-old Eastpointe man reported missing in 2018 was found Saturday afternoon in Chesterfield Township by a man looking for mushrooms. According to the Chesterfield Township Police Department, it happened at about 4 p.m. in a heavily-wooded and swampy area south of 23 Mile Road, near I-94. Police said bones, heavily weathered clothing and camping equipment were found and that there were no signs of trauma. The man was identified by a Michigan ID card inside a wallet, police said. The investigation is ongoing, but police said there were no signs of criminal activity.

The two men arrested were being sought by police for a bank robbery that happened at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 at the TCF Bank on 23 Mile Road. Once Chesterfield Township police detectives made contact with the men a short foot chase developed. Both of the men are being held at the Chesterfield Township Police Department and will be arraigned next week.
