Kingdom of Wakanda destined for Disney + streaming service
Disney on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, announced a five-year exclusive TV deal with Cooglers Proximity Media company that includes development of a series based in the Kingdom of Wakanda from Cooglers Black Panther blockbuster. A TV series set in the โBlack Pantherโ kingdom will be developed as part of a five-year, exclusive television deal the Walt Disney Co. announced Monday with filmmaker Ryan Cooglerโs Proximity Media company. Coogler wrote and directed 2018โs โBlack Panther,โ a box-office hit that turned Chadwick Boseman into a superstar. The Black Panther character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics, which became part of Disney in 2009 when the media giant acquired Marvel Entertainment.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. โ Anne Hathaway apologized on Instagram Thursday for how her role in the HBO movie โThe Witchesโ could hurt children with limb differences. The apology featured a video from the Lucky Fin Project, a Metro Detroit nonprofit started by Molly Stapleman after her daughter Ryan was born missing fingers on her right hand in 2007. โIt really hurt my heart as a parent of a child is born with less than 10 fingers. โAs someone who really believes in inclusivity and really, really detests cruelty, I owe you all an apology for the pain caused,โ Hathaway posted on Instagram. โEspecially right now.โRyan said she wants everyone to know about her โlucky fin" and anyone else with a difference.
Cake Lady helps wounded soldiers heal, one treat at a time
Cake Ladyโs here!โ began rolling through the room full of wounded soldiers, bed by bed. Who was this Cake Lady, he wondered, until he saw a middle-aged woman in a โstrange dress'' pushing a trolley and handing out cake. โAnd she was doling out hugs and, you know, cakes. The wounded soldiers demanded their own treats, and Ryan returned with cake for 35. They crowd-funded so she could join them at the Invictus Games, the sporting event for injured service people.
Driver faces felony charges in crash that killed 10-year-old girl in Warren
WARREN, Mich. โ Felony charges have been filed in connection with a crash in Warren that killed a 10-year-old girl. The crash happened at the intersection of of 10 Mile Road and Ryan on July 25. Police said the backhoe on the back of Ottoโs truck fell on top of the car GiGi was in.
10-year-old killed in Warren crash after crane falls off truck
WARREN, Mich. A 10-year-old girl was killed at the scene of a crash on 10 Mile and Ryan roads in Warren Saturday morning, according to police. Police say a dump truck driver ran a red light and hit a car. The impact forced a crane on the truck to fall off and onto the car. The truck driver is a 60-year-old Chesterfield Township man who is in stable condition. My deepest sympathy goes out to the mother of the 10-year-old child as well as others in the family, said Warren Mayor Jim Fouts on Facebook.
New Boston children calm fears during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
NEW BOSTON, Mich. Two children in New Boston wanted to do something to calm fears during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Ryan and Reese Marvaso, 12 and 9, respectively, are the brother and sister duo, along with their mom, Jill, who started this unique project together. This pinwheel is all about a project that the kids started called Project Pinwheel Pandemic and they wanted to spread happiness and cheer to family and friends and community members, Jill said. They tag them with a note about their pinwheel project, load them up in the car and pass them out to anyone who wants one. For these children, while theyve been at home for months because of the stay-at-home order, the pinwheel project has not only brought others joy, but them as well.
Ohio Woman Says She Saw Burger King Employee Snap Picture of Her Credit Card
An Ohio woman says she caught a Burger King employee snapping a photo of her credit card at the drive-thru. Trisha Ryan told WKRC she pulled up to the window to pay after placing an order and handed over her credit card. She said she saw the employee hesitate for a fraction of a second, which made her pay closer attention than she might have otherwise. Ryan said she got the manager of the fast food restaurant involved, who then confiscated the employee's phone and called police. West Nile virus cases rose in the US in 2018, killing 167 people
West Nile cases are on the rise in the U.S.ATLANTA - The number of West Nile virus cases rose across the United States last year, killing 167 people, according to data released Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There were 2,647 cases of West Nile virus last year, the CDC said, which is 550 more cases than the year before. Still, "what the report tells us is, as in years past, West Nile virus is the most frequent cause of neuroinvasive disease." West Nile is transmitted by mosquitoes, making it an arbovirus -- a type of virus transmitted by bugs.
