Ann Arbor Art Fairs plan to be back this summer – with a little reorganizing
ANN ARBOR, MI -- The annual Ann Arbor Art Fairs are expected to return in July, with organizers of the Summer Art Fair taking over the South University section. The annual event, which organizers canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, typically includes four fairs: the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original; State Street Art Fair; The Guild’s Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair and South University Art Fair. Applications for the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair are available online through Friday, March 19. The Ann Arbor Original Art Fair application deadline passed but the State Street District Fair deadline is Sunday, March 14. The Gutman Gallery is accepting submissions from all artists for its upcoming exhibition that kicks off on March 19, 2021. The exhibition will run at the gallery at 118 N. 4th Ave. March 19-May 1. The Guild of Artists & Artisans presents the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair -- the Ann Arbor Art Fair’s largest fair -- each year. Ann Arbor’s Gutman Gallery announces first annual Holiday Artist Market
ANN ARBOR – The Guild of Artists & Artisans will be holding its first-ever Holiday Artist Market in its downtown Gutman Gallery from Nov. 4 to December 23. From Black Friday through Christmas Eve, the gallery will have extended holiday hours in its festive, warm space. The Gutman Gallery will also be participating in both downtown Ann Arbor’s Midnight Madness and Kerrytown Market’s Festive Fridays. Gutman Gallery to reopen Wednesday featuring Ann Arbor Art Fair artists
ANN ARBOR, Mich. On Wednesday, the Gutman Gallery on Fourth Avenue will reopen after closing its doors in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The reopening comes a few weeks before the Ann Arbor Art Fair was scheduled to take place prior to its cancelation in May. Operated by The Guild of Artists & Artisans, the Gutman Gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Wallace added that the 38 artists featured in the gallery were juried selected for The Guilds portion of the Ann Arbor Summer Art fair, one of four simultaneous art fairs known collectively as Ann Arbor Art Fair. The Gutman Gallery originally opened in February but was forced to close its physical space during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ann Arbors The Guild hosts Bob Ross inspired Happy Little Videos competition
ANN ARBOR, Mich. The Guild of Artists & Artisans in Ann Arbor is hosting a Bob Ross inspired art competition for its members. Until Friday, artists and artisans of The Guild can submit Happy Little Videos of themselves making art in the spirit of Bob Ross for the competition. From May 27 to June 3, community members will be able to watch and vote for their favorite videos through The Guild Facebook page. The Virtual Art series can be found on The Guild Facebook page. The nonprofit artisan guild is known for its annual Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, which was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 crisis.
