This musical classic opens in Detroit tonight
One of the classics of musical theater is in Detroit through Jan. 8 at the Fisher Theatre. “Les Misérables” is one of the most celebrated shows of all time and cast member Haley Dortch joined Tati Amare on “Live in the D” to talk about her national debut tour.
Alanis Morissette’s ‘Jagged Little Pill’ musical coming to Michigan for 1st time
Kicking off the season will be “Mean Girls” at the Fisher Theatre this June along with “My Fair Lady” at the Detroit Opera House the same month. After that, “Ain’t Too Proud,” The Temptations musical will be at the Opera House in August. “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical” is coming to the Opera House in December with “Beetlejuice” following that in January and February, 2023. Then, it’s the highly anticipated Alanis Morissette musical, “Jagged Little Pill,” coming to the Fisher in February 2023. All subscribers will have the first opportunity to purchase “Hamilton” tickets with their 2022-23 season subscription.

Something “beautiful” is at the Fisher Theater this weekend

Proof of vaccination required for all Broadway in Detroit shows beginning with ‘Rent’ farewell tour
DETROIT - Broadway musicals will return to Detroit in 2021 with numerous safety protocols in place for anyone attending the productions. Beginning with the “Rent” 25th anniversary farewell tour at the Fisher Theatre on October 19, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of a performance will be required for anyone wishing to sit in the audience. All Broadway in Detroit event staff will also be required to be fully vaccinated and will be masked at every performance. The guide will also be posted on the Broadway in Detroit website and will be available at the Fisher Theatre box office. All Broadway in Detroit venues now have upgraded HVAC systems with MERV 13 filters, increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
