Vehicle crash blocks southbound lanes on I-75 at 9 Mile Road in Oakland County
A vehicle crash causes traffic to be backed up Monday night in a construction zone on southbound Interstate 75 at Nine Mile Road. Officials said the minivan lost control and was wedged between the construction walls, blocking the two southbound lanes. 19-year-old charged in crash that killed 107-year-old woman in Allen Park
ALLEN PARK, Mich – A 19-year-old man has been charged in a crash that killed a 107-year-old woman in Allen Park. PREVIOUS: Man arrested in crash that killed 107-year-old woman in Allen ParkThe crash happened Friday, March 26, at Goddard and Reeck roads. The woman was a passenger in the other vehicle involved in the crash, investigators said. Police said Bieringer got out of his vehicle and stopped for a moment before running away. He was located and arrested after someone took and shared a picture of him at the scene.
2 people killed on I-75 near Schaefer after wrong-way driver crashes into vehicle head on
Two people were killed after a driver travels the wrong way on I-75, hitting another vehicle head on. According to Michigan State Police, the crash happened at about 4:50 p.m. Friday. Troopers were dispatched to I-75 near Schaefer after it was reported that a vehicle traveled south in the northbound lanes and crashed into another car. Both drivers were killed instantly. MSP said it is unknown which ramp the driver came from or why he was even driving the wrong way.
Driver killed in high-speed crash on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Investigators said a driver was killed Tuesday night in a vehicle crash in the middle of a neighborhood on Detroit’s west side. The crash happened in the area of Burt Road and Florence Street. The driver was speeding when he hit another vehicle and was ejected from the car. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The occupants in the other vehicle are OK.Watch the report in the video above.
Police investigate violent crash in I-94 construction zone in Detroit
DETROIT – Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Monday at a construction zone on westbound Interstate 94 in Detroit near Van Dyke Avenue. Officials said the driver in a Dodge Challenger was believed to be traveling more than 100 miles per hour before hitting a Chevy Malibu and a utility pole, landing upside down. Woman’s car hit by falling concrete from bridge on I-75 in Oakland County
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Clarkston woman was driving her normal route when a chunk of concrete from an overpass on Interstate 75 smashed into her windshield. Tracie Moonen was at Exit 93 on Dixie Highway at I-75 when the concrete hit her vehicle. Initially, she wondered if someone had thrown something, but the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office went out there and assessed what happened. Michigan State Police: Speed, alcohol were factors in crash that killed 3 people on I-94 in Detroit
DETROIT – Michigan State Police said speed and alcohol were factors in a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead on eastbound Interstate 94 in Detroit. That’s not tragic, that’s stupidity,” said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. State police said the driver of a Chevy Camaro was speeding when he rear-ended a Mercury SUV heading in the same direction. “This is one crime we can make go away today if people did not get behind the wheel impaired,” Shaw said. “There’s two families, three families out there that possibly will never have the same experience in life again because their loved one is gone,” Shaw said.
Driver rescued after vehicle submerged in Detroit River near Grosse Ile Yacht Club
GROSSE ILE, Mich. – Grosse Ile police pulled a driver and vehicle from the Detroit River following a crash. The incident happened Friday night on East River Road near the Grosse Ile Yacht Club. He pointed officers to the river where they found the driver and vehicle. Police said the driver was going too fast to make a turn. That’s a steep curve so I know it can mislead people sometimes, but never anything like this where people have driven into the water.
Michigan construction workers call for change after 2 were hit, killed in Ypsilanti

4 children injured in 2-vehicle crash on I-94 at Cadieux Road
DETROIT – Four children, between ages 4 and 14, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night on westbound Interstate 94 at Cadieux Road. Michigan State Police was dispatched at about 8:20 p.m., according to a series of tweets from the department. A preliminary investigation indicated that two vehicles were attempting to exit at Cadieux Road at the same time. MSP said one of the vehicles blocked the left lane of westbound I-94. According to MSP, a 6-year-old was seriously injuries, a 4-year-old is in temporary serious condition, and a 9-year-old and 14-year-old are both in stable condition.
Driver charged in Ypsilanti Township crash that killed 2 construction workers
YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Charges have been filed against a 29-year-old driver in a crash that killed two construction works in Ypsilanti Township. Ryann Musselman, of Belleville, is charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated causing death. A vehicle driven by Musselman hit both of the workers in the area. The crash happened at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 eastbound near Harris Road. 6-year-old girl killed in vehicle crash in Waterford Township
WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 6-year-old girl was killed in a crash Wednesday night in Waterford Township. UPDATE: Police reveal what led to four-car crash that killed 6-year-old girlThe crash happened in the area of M-59 and Airport Road. Witnesses said the driver crashed into two vehicles. Her husband and daughter were in the family’s other vehicle. The family was at a traffic light when the driver crashed into the vehicles.
26-year-old man killed in rollover crash on Hoyt Street in Detroit
DETROIT – A 26-year-old man died after a rollover crash on Detroit’s east side Thursday afternoon. The crash happened at about 4 p.m. on Hoyt Street between Schoenherr Street and Gratiot Avenue. Police say the man was in a Volkswagen and drove through a yield sign, hitting another car. The driver in the other vehicle was a 20-year-old woman. She is expected to be OK.
