Car crashes into Flamingo Vintage, Detroit police seek driver
Flamingo Vintage in Detroit has several broken windows covered with plywood after a vehicle crashed into the building. DETROIT โ Police are investigating after someone drove a car into a vintage shop and drove off. The collision happened Friday night at Flamingo Vintage, located near the intersection of Vernor Highway and Junction Avenue. The shop owner said the driver of a black Cadillac ran into the front of the store, taking down the security gate, window frame and two display windows. The driver drove off without exiting the vehicle, the owner said.
Police seek 2 men in connection with armed robbery on Detroitโs west side
DETROIT โ Police are is seeking the publicโs assistance in locating and identifying two men wanted in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on the Detroitโs west side. According to authorities, the two men entered a Cricket Wireless Store in the 7600 block of Vernor Highway at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday. Police said they ordered an employee to go into the back of the store an open the safe. Detroit motorcyclist hospitalized after crashing into hole
DETROIT โ Stephanie Medina and her husband Diego Medina live in southwest Detroit on Vernor Highway. โThey told me he was trying to pass by a car and didnโt see a hole... when he tried to pass the car, he fell into the hole,โ said Stephanie Medina. Calls to city of Detroit officials led us to Wayne County and eventually the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD). A day after our inquiries, crews were hard at work to seal the spot where Diego Medina crashed. โI was really angry... because they couldโve put something over the hole,โ Stephanie Medina said.

New mural on Detroitโs west side promotes solidarity
DETROIT โ Well-known local artist Sheefy McFly put the finishing touches on a mural Friday. The mural, painted on the side of Flamingo Vintage, located near the intersection of Junction Avenue and Vernor Highway, was made to promote solidarity. The team behind the mural said the goal is to keep the conversations and movement active. A socially-distanced block party will take place Friday at 4 p.m. to unveil the mural. Detroit police looking for missing 29-year-old man
DETROIT Police are asking for help locating a missing 29-year-old man last seen Saturday afternoon. Bryant is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, gray pants and Nike Air Force 1 Shoes. He is reportedly in good physical condition but his mother said he may try to harm himself. DETROIT - Firefighters rushed to rescue people during a building fire Friday morning along Junction Avenue near Vernor Highway in Southwest Detroit. Original story: Buildings burn near Junction, Vernor in SW DetroitThree buildings in the Mexicantown neighborhood of Detroit were destroyed, but authorities said it could have been significantly worse. Detroit fire crews worked as fast as they could to contain and put out the fire. The fire caused walls to collapse, destroying the historic buildings, including a restaurant that was being renovated. Fire crews busted through a second-floor window to rescue two people who lived above the restaurant.
