Morris Township Police Chief Michael Veach told MLive-The Flint Journal. The 19-year-old woman driving the car died in the crash, Veach said. Ed Benning, MTA President and Chief Executive Officer, confirmed with MLive-The Flint Journal that it was an MTA bus involved in the crash.

The parents got out of the car and the suspect got inside and stole the vehicle with the baby in the backseat. The mother exchanged gunfire with the suspect according to police. Police eventually found the baby safe in the car which was abandoned in an alley.

Detectives interviewed doctors who said the baby choked on something and went into cardiac arrest. Interviews with the parents of the child, indicated it was possible the baby found drug paraphernalia in a trash can and ingested it. “Watching the dashcam footage of our Deputies and Firefighters working hand-in-hand together to save the life of an innocent 10-month-old child demonstrates the heart and soul of our first responders,” said Sheriff Michael J. BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A woman and her baby died Tuesday morning in a mobile home fire near the Michigan city of Saginaw, authorities said. Multiple fire departments responded to the blaze in a mobile home park in Saginaw County's Bridgeport Township. The mother and child were in one of three trailers that caught fire, authorities said.
