The NAACP over the weekend issued a travel advisory for Florida, joining two other civil rights groups in warning potential tourists that recent laws championed by Gov_ Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers are “openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals.”.

Prize headed to Michigan School Aid Fund after $1 million Powerball ticket expires
LANSING, Mich. – The prize from an expired $1 million Powerball ticket is going to the Michigan School Aid Fund. Powerball tickets expire a year after the drawing. Officials said the ticket is the fourth unclaimed $1 million prize this year. Two Mega Millions prizes were unclaimed in March and September, and another Powerball prize was unclaimed in October. The record for the highest unclaimed prize in the state is $34 million.
Ancient cup given to 1st marathon victor returned to Greece

Greeces Culture Ministry says the 6th century B.C. A ministry statement says it was proved beyond any doubt that the two-handled cup painted with ancient runners was the one given to Spiros Louis, the Greek marathon victor in 1896. Following correspondence with Greek officials, the university agreed to return the cup, which was part of a private German collection it had bought in 1986.
Here's how you can get $15 worth of free gas this weekend in Macomb County
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A church in Macomb County has paid for drivers to receive $15 worth of free gas this weekend. All cars that show up at the Marathon gas station at the corner of Hayes and Hall roads in Macomb Township starting at 1:30 p.m. Saturday will receive $15 worth of free gas. The event is being held by the Lakeside Assembly of God Church. "Lakeside Church loves our community and wants to bless them with free gas," the church posted on its Facebook page. Macomb Township police officers and firefighters are expected to be at the scene to help make sure the event goes smoothly.
Leak at Marathon Refinery in Detroit contained, officials say
DETROIT - Officials were notified Thursday afternoon of a leak at the Marathon Refinery. The first report came in at 1:38 p.m. to the Detroit Homeland Security and Emergency Management office. The leak was, according to Marathon, emitting an oil vapor cloud in the area that did not pose a danger to the public. Air monitoring resources have been sent out by Marathon in nearby areas as a precaution, according to officials.
