Suspects tried to use stolen excavator to access bank ATM in Metro Detroit, police say
WAYNE COUNTY, MI – Police have arrested two suspects who attempted to use an excavator to steal an ATM in Wayne County. According to the Brownstown Township Police Department, the attempted robbery occurred at a Chase Bank at the intersection of King Road and Allen Road on June 11. Bank security notified police after their cameras caught the robbery attempt in progress. Police say the suspects took off in a stolen white truck after the robbery attempt was unsuccessful. Police tracked the suspects north on I-75, but they were eventually able to get away after splitting up on foot, WXYZ-TV in Detroit reported.

KEWEENAW COUNTY, MI – Officials in the Upper Peninsula are searching for suspects who caused a small fuel spill will allegedly attempting to steal gas from a commercial fishing operation. WLUC-TV reports that the incident occurred on the East shore of Lac La Belle on May 19 when a 275-gallon fuel tank was emptied except for what remained in the bottom of the tank and fuel lines. The cut line and tank remnants were left to run into the lake in Keweenaw County, the TV station reported, but the spill was considered small and quickly contained. Officials believe high fuel costs motivated the suspects to try and steal the gas. Michigan State Police joined a stolen vehicle chase around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday on southbound Dixie Highway in Oakland County. A trooper was following the suspect vehicle and guiding others to the location when the suspects crashed near Perryville Road. One suspect was seen throwing a gun into the woods. The third suspect, who allegedly attempted to hide the gun, was found separately and taken into custody. The MSP Flint Post canine unit performed an article search and located the gun buried in the snow.

DETROIT – Police have been searching for a murder suspect following a high-speed chase on Interstate 94. Police said the suspect is connected to a deadly shooting in Romulus. The chase started in Romulus onto I-94. The driver eventually got off the freeway at Chene Street before crashing the car and the two occupants inside took off. Police searching for suspects who stole $10,000 worth of jewelry
BERLIN TWP., MI – Police are searching for two suspects who broke into a Berlin Township home in Monroe County Friday afternoon and stole upwards of $10,000 worth of jewelry. The two suspects exited the vehicle and entered the home through a rear door where they stole a black Samsung tablet and a jewelry cabinet containing the $10,000 worth of jewelry items, police said. DETROIT – Detroit police are asking for tips as they search for suspects in a Jan. 26 non-fatal triple shooting. Police said the shooting happened about 12:10 a.m. in the 18600 block of Grand River Avenue. The suspects exited a white Chevrolet Tahoe and fired shots toward a gas station, striking three victims.
