It is Women’s History Month, so we spoke with an Oscar and Emmy nominated writer, director, and producer who is a groundbreaker in the film industry. Ava DuVernay is the first African American woman to receive the Sun Dance Film Festival’s Best Director award. She has built quite a reputation for herself even though she did not pick up a camera until she was 32 years old. She is now collaborating with Emmy winner Roberto Patino on “DMZ”, a new HBO Max drama.
Truth Be Told returns for a second season
Fans of the Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told have a lot to look forward to when it returns for its second season. Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater to launch series of films centered around women’s stories Friday
ANN ARBOR – The Michigan Theater has partnered with Toyota to add a Diversity Film Series kicking off this month in its Virtual Movie Palace. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the series will start with four films centered around women’s stories during the month of March. Assassin’s Creed to get live action adaptation after Netflix, Ubisoft strike deal
Netflix and Ubisoft made a deal to develop content based on the video game franchise Assassin’s Creed. Netflix has the rights to develop live action, animated and anime entertainment based on the game. The first series in development is slated to be a live action adaptation, according to a press release. “We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”The search is on for a showrunner. “We’re excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassin’s Creed is beloved for,” said Peter Friedlander, Vice President, Original Series, Netflix.
