(NASA via AP)CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. โ Spacewalking astronauts completed the first round of prep work Friday for new solar panels, part of a major power upgrade at the International Space Station. NASAโs Kate Rubins and Japanโs Soichi Noguchi installed mounting brackets and struts for the improved solar wings due to arrive in June. The eight solar panels have degraded over time; the oldest were launched 20 years ago. Noguchi, Glover and two other NASA astronauts will fly SpaceX back in late April or May.

There are reports that some of the food given to guard members is also moldy. The letter was sent to General Daniel R. Hokanson, Chief of the National Guard Bureau. In the letter, the Michigan Delegation wrote, โWe understand that the decision was made to provide contracted meals to support the entire federal response stationed at the Capitol. However, it is clear that these contracted meals are poorly prepared, oftentimes inedible, and highly inadequate to support our soldiers. It is completely unacceptable that our men and women serving in Washington D.C. are being hospitalized due to the food they are being provided.

DETROIT โ On Monday, the White House COVID Response Team talked about efforts to keep case numbers moving in the right direction. Facing that reality, the White House says it is critical to get vaccines sidelined by the winter weather back on track. That study looked at nine COVID clusters involving 13 teachers and 32 students at six elementary schools in Georgia. โThe two main reasons for spread of COVID-19 in these schools were inadequate physical distancing and mask adherence. For example, when students werenโt wearing masks or wearing them poorly, the virus was able to spread more easily because there wasnโt sufficient distancing.

3 people fatally shot inside Indiana apartment were from Detroit
Officers called to a home in the Elgin Manor Apartments complex Friday morning found the bodies of Adrian Demarlo George Jr., 30; Devonte Earl Hollis, 25, and Terence Thomas, 27, Police Chief Nate Sloan said. โ Three Michigan men have been identified as the victims of a fatal shooting at an apartment in Muncie, police said. Officers called to a home in the Elgin Manor Apartments complex Friday morning found the bodies of Adrian Demarlo George Jr., 30; Devonte Earl Hollis, 25, and Terence Thomas, 27, Police Chief Nate Sloan said. โAll of the men had succumbed to gunshot wounds and were from the Detroit, Mich., area,โ Sloan said in a news release. City police and other agencies were continuing to investigate the slayings, Sloan said.
